I see the recent thread on this essential oil was closed due to dicksizing.
I for one am interested in this oil and its chemical makeup.
How does it work? What does Elemicin do? What kind of dose range (drops of the oil) etc.
I can procure 2 10ml vials of 100% pure Elemi Oil of Canarium Luzonicum for reasonably cheap, and usually 10ml is 100 drops IME.

So.... Im interested to know if anybody has experience with this or any information at least?
Thanks.

over at the dmt-nexus, i believe 69ron has "perfected" a technique to get the most out of elemi. something about extraction with DMSO to concentrate the trippiness and remove the sedation.

As stated about three or four times before in different threads, the purported psyhcoactive constituent of elemi oil is elemicin (present in not more than 5 or 6 per cent). It's related to myrsticin from nutmeg and the other propenylbenzenes. I believe that it is inactive as a serotonergic; at least myrsticin to my knowledge is more of an anticholinergic than anything else. I don't expect that elemicin would be any different, and definitely have strong doubts that your liver carries out reductive aminations.

Wikipedia says that elemi oil is not psychoactive; take that as you will. The main constituent of the oil seems to be mostly terpenes (limonene/dipentine, elemol, humulene etc) which have known, although mild, psychoactive and relaxant effects.

There has been GC analysis of elemi oil done before, so it's not like it's a major mystery as to why/if it's active. Reference

Edit: Elemicin in elemi oil isn't even 10% it's <5%

There is simply not enough data to come to a valid conclusion about the realistic viability of using it as an entheogen. Elemicin is thought to be the main active constituent, but even trials with elemicin, not the whole oil, are just as inconclusive as the results with the whole essential oil.

Eat some nutmeg instead; it's more psychoactive and still contains elemicin in a good percentage.

Elemi oil is useful for aromatherapy but not much else.
