well i went to the doctor about two months ago for some depression i was going through. he gave me some samples of effoxer (anough to last about 4 weeks) the first weeks dose was 37.5 mg per each pill then the second week it stepped up to 75 mg. I took them for the first week, but when the weekend came i drank a couple of beers and puked my guts up....i also found it caused me to have great anger when useing coke. So i stopped using the medication mostly for this reason. Well i am know taking it again....any information anyone has on this drug is greatly apprecatiated

i took it for quite a while. uumm..i think it's supposed to make alcohol "hit you harder". that's what my doc told me anyway. i was barely drinking during that time, so i don't really have any personal experience for you.

Well, thats the way the medication works... drinking and cocaine do not go well with Effexor, so you have a choice to make - this will be like one ofthise chose your own adventure books...
If you feel that overall, the effexor has improved the quality ofyour life or helped your (depression?) thenyou will have to give up those guilty pleasures like coke and heavy alcohol consumption...
If you feel you can do with out it, and your weekendof fun is worth more then whatever stability you get fromthe Effexor, then stop taking it and go back to drinking brewskies and railing gaggers ..
It's your choice... sadly there isn't really a happy medium..

Actually, coke is better on Effexor...it lasts longer and is more euphoric, but it doesn't make you angrier. That was all in your head, that anger part...well, perhaps more dopamine made you more agressive but the anger came from YOU.
