Hello

Firstly sorry for my bad English

Im suffering from OCD and Anxiety. These two makes me depressed so i cant keep on going with my life

I have gone to some doctors and they prescribed me Paxil. That doesnt worked for me.Only thing works for me is Alcohol but after the booze it makes me worst

So i did some research.I found Effexor Xr is most effective for anxiety and Luvox is the most effective for OCD

Now im stucked at this point :).Should i take Effexor for my anxiety or Luvox for my OCD

I see SNRI are more effective than SSRI.Maybe im wrong i dont know

I also found California Rocket Fuel (effexor+remeron) combination. If i make a Effexor+Luvox combination it makes me good or bad?

Any help will be welcome

I've tried Effexor in the past for depression/anxiety and I found that it increased my anxiety/depression and increased suicidal thinking a LOT. Of course, I'm sure others have had success stories with it though. But then again, SSRIs (like Luvox) never did jack shit for me and only made me tired all day and even more depressed. So yeah I suppose that doesn't help solve your problem, it's just my experience with them. Your English is fine btw ;)

there's a tricyclic called clomipramine that's acknowledged as the gold standard for treating ocd; you could ask your doctor about that. he'll likely put you on a less heavy-duty medication like luvox before that though. i've cycled through many, many SRI antidepressants and never found them to be effective for anxiety. don't know about effexor though.

venlafaxine is a substance i'd stay away from like the plague. i took it for a year+ and it did fuck all, although when i stopped taking it i fell into the worst depression of my life. i would spend days just laying in bed and thinking about the best way to kill myself. paroxetine is also a horrid, horrid substance.
if available i would recommend tianeptine. in my experience it has almost no side effects, is notably anxiolytic and unlike pretty much all other antidepressants it kicks in really fast. another antidepressant i found really useful is selegiline, just make sure you the dosage is low enough that it only inhibits MAOb, i.e. 10mg or less a day.
