I had this posted over in TDS but TBH I don't get a great deal of responses over there, not disrespect to the team, not sure if its my subject or the fact that its mainly a US kinda place. I feel more at home here even if the this thread looks more like something for TDS.
If its an issue don't hesitate to let me know....I've got enough issues as it is;)

I've been on Venlafaxine for a quite a few months now I take 150mgs slow release daily. Recently I have started to wake in the early hours with disturbing dreams, I fall back to sleep but mostly but then have more disturbing dreams and the problem seems to be getting worse. I can cope with the almost constant headaches but this really is really throwing me off balance

I've tried quite a few ADs and this is the only one that I've really managed to tolerate for any period although I did have similar problems with Lofepramine a good while back so came off that.

I'm not normally one to get spooked by nightmares, I am currently trying to taper off Diazempam so last night in an attempt to see if this was related I took a larger dose but its was just as bad from about 4am onwards. The next night I took enough Diaz to fell a Rhino and didn't have any nightmares but its hardly a solution.

The problem seem to be getting rapidly worse but with my CBT going so well and my depression and general anxiety improving more than it has in a long time I'm not keen on rocking the boat by trying to come off Venlafaxine.

Is there anything I can do to stop these dreams? could they be related to my diazepam use ? I wasn't using diazepam when I had the issues with Lofepramine.

Any help gratefully received
