Misc effects of daily sublingual admin. (various substances)

Ive noticed that with suboxone, the area becomes tender and perhaps even callused?
This is well known amongst many sub users but it still seems to work for us.

On the other hand, when I sublingual ethylphenidate, it burns.
After a while, it gets pretty irritated, and burns more each time.
Unfortunately, it works significantly better with this method.

How do you guys (who sublingual ethyl-phen...) deal with this?

I try to dose after using alcohol based mouthwash and it helps but it still remains irritated.

Any other suggestions? Why would this burn? Perhaps there is a way to minimize this irritation?

I would say that because the area is "tender and perhaps even callused", the ethylphenidate corrosivity would be the cause.

I haven't heard of this happening with subs, certainly hasn't happened to me, but everyone is different.

It sounds like you are causing what could be compared to an abrasion in the SL area. Not surprising considering how fragile that surface is... The callusing you're talking about could be scat tissue forming due to the constant abuse, hard to say w/o an oral exam. You either have to let it heal or try using different sides, quadrants every dose to try and even it out. Rising after dosing is a good idea. although alcohol will clean out the wound you are slowly creating, you don't want to use it on an open wound. Water would be just fine. Just mind the area so as to avoid any inflammation or infection.

I've sort of noticed this with subs except not calloused or tender. Just the area where I always put my film seems to absorb slower and slower as the months go by, but its not physically changed. If I move it to another spot or by my gums/cheek it absorbs like it used to, quickly
