Effects/behavioral changes of animals by drugs

If this were the case. There would be a lot of dead human test subjects in order to get a large number medicines we have on our chemist's shelves.

I'm not against this. I understand certain experimentation should be done for human safety. But I have never heard of any experiments where they give animals they're size of a dose.
