Can anyone explain this further. I've read several Pub Med articles about it, but their pretty vague.

From what I got the clonazepam decreases the use of SERT by neurons and up regulates 5HT1A receptors in the forebrain.

Does anyone know anything else or anything more advanced about it?

short answer is yes definately, gaba indirectly decreases serotonin activity through various signalling and probably even direct pathways, although the latter would be very difficult to prove. furthermore some of the serious side effects point to abnormal serotonin functioning

clonazepam and its interesting effects on serotonin apparently help with depersonalization and derealization syndromes (both syndromes are associated with serotonin dysfunction). I wonder if it helps because it basically stops serotonin from functioning normally by decreasing neuron utilization.

Anyway, if anyone else knows anything more advanced about Clonazepam and Sert I'd like to know.
