I wrote a PM but wanted to add something. There's no edit button, so instead I noticed I had sent 3 messages that were only slightly edited. I deleted the two first ones, but is there any way to edit a PM?

^ you're forgetting that this new version of vBB has the flux capacitor plug-in.

anyway, i'll answer the question correctly, someone has to. :p

yes, you can edit a PM by copying and pasting it into a text editor.

however, this will not change the message that the recipient received and read. I suppose you could go round to his house and steal his computer before he reads it, but I suspect that's a bit of a grey area, legally speaking.

I had considered making such a smart-arse reply: "edit all you like, just don't send the PM until it's finished".

However, I thought a discussion that centred around an ID one zero T error may confuse the poor chap. ;) :D <3

maybe we need an addition to the FAQ or GG:

"please note that the "SUBMIT MESSAGE" button doesn't "SAVE AS DRAFT", it actually submits the message. it's confusing, we know."

OK I'll stop. :D

^

I hope it wasn't meant against me. I just think it would be a good idea to be able to edit PM's just like normal posts, that's all.

there might have been a tiny bit of fun. but your question was kinda ambiguous...

do you want to edit a sent message before someone reads it? or forward an amended version of that message to someone else? tell us exactly what you want to do, please. :)

I want to be able to edit it when it's already sent. Just like the post I'm writing right now. I can edit it after posting it. Sometimes to correct typos, sometimes to add a phrase or two, sometimes to make an unclear sentence a bit better to understand.

Sending a PM is like sending an email. Once its sent its sent, there is no way to edit it at that point and I dont even see how this would really be possible...?
