Edibles: Is cannabutter necessary?

Is making cannabutter a crucial step to making a successful batch of brownies? Pardon my ignorance, but why can't I just dump some shake into the bowl of batter? Making butter seems very time consuming and tough. I want to know if it's worth the extra effort.

From what people have told me its so much better. And the real way to make brownies. I would rather have the ones wit the butter in them because i wouldnt wanna been pickin weed out of my teeth the whole time.

Either way will work, but like he said ^^ you wont want to be picking chuncks of weed and stems out of your teeth, they'd taste much better if you did the cannabutter way, but if you dont care about that you can do whichever you want.

cannabutter isn't hard persay, it is a bit time consuming to make a good batch though, but its definately worth it, i imagine in your don't use cannabutter in your brownies, some fo the thc would soak out into the non-cannabutter butter in the recipe but im not sure,

its just THC isn't water soluable, its fat soluable, and alcohol soluable

If you can boil water, butter and shake and then pour that through some panty-hose, then you can make cannabutter.

Like Mr. Fluffykins said you can other mediums as well. I've used heavy whipping cream when making nice cream.

I think that if you just have a bunch of shake that you need to sautay the herb in some butter before you work the recipie. low heat realeases thc and then use the butter in the mix. If you have chopped it up real good then just throw that in as a back up, but the low heat will infuse the butter.

If you make cannabutter to substitute your normal butter with, you can achieve much more uniform dosing more easily if you just pile the weed into the mix, some cookies will have more than other and dosing becomes somewhat of a headache. Also, I have been led to believe that absorption of cannabinoids from cannabutter is a bit faster than using the method you suggested.
