to avoid the aggravation of scraping gummy extractions off of glass (ex. cactus tar from an alcohol extraction), i was thinking maybe there is some kind of edible material that you could finish the final stages of evaporation on (using glass initially), something that wouldn't dissolve when a bit of alcohol or naptha etc was poured into it? ie with a fan on it, the liquid would evaporate and leave the edible media with the reduced goo on it? any ideas?

Why? surely you don't want to leave it as a gummy junk, but to take whatever it is you're after to the pure chemical, right?

^ ideally yeah, but with the cactus extraction specifically, it's infinitely harder to refine it to mescaline crystals. i'm happy with the tar extract - aside from the fact that it's a bitch to scrape.

at first i was thinking edible paper liner for the pan or something. but if anyone has a solution, some kind of de-gumming remedy w/e.

You could eat a paper cup although I doubt it would taste great it would present little harm.

how about sushi style seaweed? if i'm using ISO, need to be sure the material won't retain any of the alcohol.

mods:
you can move this to PD if you want, i know it's not a complex problem.
but i could use some more input.
thx

ISO? Isopropyl alcohol? If you get that shit from a pharmacy they have like a 91% or 99% Isopropanol.. it will evaporate rather quickly, I'm sure someone on here will say it leaves a residue, but I would use it myself.
