Hey everyone!

So I have a couple questions pertaining to my friend's current antidepressant and ecstasy. I've researched this for the past couple days, and I do realize this question has been asked in the past. However, I never really found the answer I was looking for and would like to see if there are any recent experiences or new information about this topic. :)

My friend started taking Cymbalta 30mgs (which is an SNRI) a year ago after being diagnosed with major depression. She has rolled in the past and knows what it's like, but she attempted to roll back in June and had a terrible experience. She came down before all of us, and constantly wanted to be alone because she felt like she was holding us back. A few days later it eventually occurred to me that it could have been from her antidepressant (duh) because I had read somewhere that they don't mix well together. I did the research for her, and I read a few posts that said to stop taking the prescription for about 3 days and she should be able to roll successfully. However, her Cymbalta was recently increased from 30 to 60mgs, so I'm not sure how much of a difference that can make. I also know that Cymbalta has a lower half life than other antidepressants, so would she roll at all if she stopped taking it for about 3 days? About how many days do you think she would need to go without it to roll? How soon should she take her medicine again after the roll is over? (1 hour? 2 hours? 5 hours?) She can get bad withdrawal symptoms after a couple days without her medication (brain zaps especially), so would they be worse after a roll?

Thank you so much in advance for answering my questions, I understand every person is different with medications and whatnot but just give me your best possible answer! My friend is quite stubborn and will attempt to take ecstasy anyway, so I'd like to advise her of the safest way to do so. Thank you! :D

I personally don't think that mdma should be used by people who have major depression. She may be able to roll if she stops her meds but i think it would do more harm than good. You say that her dose was doubled, which means that her depression is not getting better. In my personal opinion, drugs like ecstasy should only be used by healthy people who enjoy life to begin with.

I couldn't agree with you more, those that are healthy and happy in life are the ones that have the most successful roll/comedown. She's typically a happy person, but ultimately has difficulty dealing with stress and anxiety. I've told her the same thing, especially since her dosage was just increased. That's what made me worried and made me want to find out more info. But she insists that she wants to find a safe way around her antidepressants and attempt again because the last time was so crappy... And because it's new years eve. So we're hoping to find an approximate number of days since she's going to try it no matter what. Your input is greatly appreciated, thank you so much! :)
