Eating raw hash vs raw weed question

I heard that eating raw hash can get you high even without heating it. But I've tried boiling raw weed in some water and eating it, didn't work. I don't think butter is necessary except as a way to trap the THC from evaporating into the air when heated. My question is, is it necessary to heat the hash before eating it like it is with weed or is it already psychoactive?

Boiling it in water is useless. THC is not water soluble, it will just turn into vapor(steam). THC is however fat soluble which is why butter works great. I prefer cooking mine into vegetable oil though.
As for your question about the hash, i do believe its possible. Never tried it myself, but heard of people doing it. My guess it probably wouldn't go down to tasty and may take a while to "kick in". Why not just cook it into brownie or cookie? So much tastier..?
