Opioids Eating on Oxycontin 40

I recently got my hands on a single Oxycontin 40. Normally I'd weasle around the time release formula, but unfortunately Purdue has made it clear this isn't the route we should be taking. I've never popped a pill with the extended release properties intact so I'm attempting to make the best of it.

For starters I have a fairly low tolerance, I haven't taken a high dose of opiates in a really long time so 40 mg should achieve me cloud 9. From what I understand, 1/3 of the drug is released within an hour, while the remaining 2/3 is gradually released over the next 11 or so hours. To ensure the most enjoyable and lengthy high as possible, I was curious about eating food on it. Clearly I'd prefer to eat in a 12 hour period, but would that interfere with the overall absorbtion rate? I know that with instant release eating isn't advised until a couple hours into the high (if you take the pill by mouth).

I always chewed the OPs on an empty stomach and waited at least 2-3 hours to eat.

Me too ^
After the first half hits (Less than 1.5h) you can eat. If you're really starving, have a low volume high fat snack w your oxy, it's said to potentiates things
(Small volume tho like 1T PB, 1 fried egg, half a chocolate bar, etc)

Oh yeah if you put your med in your cheek for a few min while sipping a drink and letting your saliva attack it, then slowly chew to nothing in ur mouth, it way easier than those "tips" of soaking a day in coke etc.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback. Does chewing it/Dissolving it in saliva actually work in terms of removing the time release?

Mostly ... You still have it in plasma levels awhile longer than IR, you get no noticeable 2nd drop at 5.5 hours out. So in short I'd guess it defeats about 85%.

The controlled release of oxycodone actually doesn't produce multiple peaks, it's just the "twice as long, half as strong" version, basically.

Chew and swallow or dissolve and stir and drink....if u can wait 24 hours I recommend dissolve ING it in a bit of lemon juice then shooting it....works like a charm

I disagree and so do the medical journals .
Approx 1.25h and at 5.5h.

Want to cite a paper then? Which "medical journals" say otherwise? :)

Show me where the two peaks are here, on this graph of the time released oxycodone tablets:[ref]

It sure looks to me that there's only ONE peak, and it's simply half as high and twice as wide as regular oxycodone!

dissolve ING it in a bit of lemon juice then shooting it....works like a charm

Injecting lemon juice is a great way to get fungal infections in places like your heart valves and lungs. Maybe dissolve it in white vinegar instead?

How did you go? I just got the new formula oxycontin today but I normally get a generic brand so haven't had to worry about this abuse proof formula. I'm wondering how to take mine now. I'm wondering if I should take more then my regular dose because I can't chew them before swallowing like I normally do.
