EADD What Are You Munching On? v. Godlike steaks & shitting candles.

I do believe that pigs are just the most delicious animal! This is why I will never believe that those micro pigs make a good pet. Delicious things do not make good pets.

The local breeder won't let my buy any more.

Square sausage slice is a delicacy in Scotland, every region has its own special mix. Lorne sausage is dog food, don't let the adverts convince you otherwise!

Controversial!

Richmond sausages are pure vile, will eat that sort of thing in a greasy spoon but even then I'd rather have a proper one.

I've got turkey leftovers round two tonight, just made a cheese sauce and chucked the sliced breast meat in a dish with that poured over the top, breadcrumbs on top and bake. Doing lots of prep for dinner tomorrow as well.

Just polished off a 600g bag of spiced gingerbread decorated with dark chocolate.
Luckily my mate didn't like them so it meant I had the whole bag to myself. Lucky lad that i am

Got the menu for tonight sorted out now, doing....

Jerusalem artichoke veloute
Sweetbreads with green bean salad and sauce gribiche
Roast haddock, fishcake, broad bean ragout and meat juice vinaigrette
Venison loin, confit potato, celariac, roast beets and red wine

Got these to drink as well which is pretty ace:

But 1996 on this one rather than 1998

Just found a box of AfterEights tucked away in the cupboard that i was given at xmas. They shall go down nicely with a cup of tea this evening. Rock & Roll baby

I just had a Dominos. It was a combination of laziness and wanting to sort out my sodium requirement for the next five weeks.

I only ate one slice.

A bag of Frazzles,Quavers and the last 2 remaining mince pies. I shall miss the mince pies when they have gone as i do love them so much.

^
Yummy

I have spaghetti too waiting to be carbonara'd (sp 8() with pancetta, mushrooms, ton of fresh garlic, herbs and peas! I like the peas for colour and extra veg. I mix in low fat creme fraise, splosh of milk and a good grating of paramassan, ground black peppercorn.

No garlic bread - have the man on a diet :D

Me, I'm on half rations :(

Funny you should mention mushrooms cos I loathes the slimy cunts but it's conceibable I may be converted if cooked right cos new Ukrainian sister-in-law cooked a variety of Ukranian starters for Xmas dinner and the chicken 'n' mushroom thing was just sublime. Was - as far as I could tell - just a chicken breast with button mushrooms on top then tomato and some kinda cheese but I cannot fathom how it could possibly be that tasty and not make me vomit given the sheer proponderance of actual mushrooms - not even chopped fine so they just make for a general savoury taste but actual mushrooms. Was so taken with her cooking I even tried her potato salad which contained chopped hard boiled eggs (did still pick the bits of egg out, mind, I'm not a masochist).

You see its all in the preparation and cooking Sambly One. Both of those dishes sound mighty tasty. We must get your taste buds expanded up' narf; :p

That or a one way ticket to Ukraine :D

<3

My tastebuds function just fine, m'dear. Although I must admit I was mighty impressed with your local cuisine featuring Munch Boxes and Pizza Crunches when I was last up your end =D

(fnarr, etc)

And no need for tickets to Ukraine - would appear new family member is both Ukrainian and locally based as well as being a dab hand with the Ukrainian munchies. The pork rissoles were especially good. Very, very heavy on the garlic and onion. Yum <3

I've only eaten a munchie box (enjoyed would be a word too far) after a night and day hammering mega booze and no knowing my name any more :| Usually lost my shoes n' knickers too 8)...been a while that.

Least it lines your stomach for the big spew :D

Now haggis pakora and black pudding sausage rolls - they're the picky snacks of the gods to dip into mango chutney, raitai and hot sauce.

Even Alasdairm has tried my balmoral chicken and still lives ;)

I'm looking forward to getting you into my kitchen to tell me how to deal with the huge Indian spice collection I have <3 We could show those texmex's a thing or too %)

I don't even have to ask what's in it to know that your Balmoral Chicken surely has to be an improvement over that other royalty-based poultry offering Coronation Chicken which is an absolute abomination :!

My TexxyMexxy friend has me booked in for proper curry from scratch lessons and will be more than happy to extend such to my now second best Scotchlander lass. Between us all tastebuds will spasm in drooling ecstasy and waistbands will expand :!

My Balmoral chicken is stuffed with haggis, wrapped in bacon and served with a whisky peppercorn creamy sauce. It's usually the first meal as a guest you're presented with at my dinning table 8)

For curry I make all amends :D

I've been practising hard at making curry base sauces like the do in restaurants (even joined a forum :o) These have worked out great and from them any Indian dish can be whipped up reasonably quickly. Still a lot to learn about the breads, sides an other dishes

One of my quick pasadras and sides

Yes, slack waistbands all round for those kinda evenings I feel %)

I'm not even going to pretend my curries are as good as that looks. However, I will add that I learnt to cook Indian food as a small boy at my best (Indian) friend's house "helping" his mother prepare dinner. As for sides, my chapatis are rather scrummy but are hardly rocket science and I have been known to cook a mean samosa. Have done naans from scratch a couple times but they are a bit of a faff to be honest. Damnably tasty but do need to prep well in advance. Actually not really - just like any bread but compared with chapatis they're a faff anyway. I do rather good tandoori chicken too as I recall but as been a while.
