EADD What Are You Munching On? v. Godlike steaks & shitting candles.

Eat another taco. G'wan, g'wan. I double dare you...

As for pecan pie, just happened to be reduced at Co-Op and looks tasty. Never come across pumpkin pie, although having tasted some of your other culinary creations in the past I wouldn't mind coming across yours.

I almost had tacos earlier today but went for sushi and tempura instead. Did you have proper tacos or a crunchy one?

I promise you tasty pumpkin pie. You'll like it!

I'm from Texas, been to Mexico probably more than most. Crunchy and soft are both acceptable forms of taco. Though street vendors do typically use soft.

Ah ok, I was under the impression that crunchy ones weren't really used in Mexico, that it was an American creation.

I like both tbh, hungry for tacos now:X

Nup had both in Mexico on several occasions. But speaking of mexican food I really want some Carne Asada now! Think last time I made that it was fed to Shammy. Was the best Carne Asada I've made so far!!! Slow cooked over a few days. YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And TBF I like crunchy and soft tacos but soft is better.

Pretty limited in my experience of mexican food, most of the stuff we get in the UK is utter garbage. Went wahaca once though which was pretty nice and supposedly pretty authentic. There's a cool taco stall on the weekday market near Waterloo as well, the name of which I cannot remember.

Being a reet fussy bastard from a young age, I only had my first taste of Mexican food in the past year (I love it, of course!). I always thought that the soft ones were burritos and the crunchy ones were tacos.

I've moved back from the city now so there's nowhere to get quick, dirty, Mexican food. I should just bite the bullet and make some myself.

Thats why I make my own! The guac here is disgusting!!! As is the salsa! I learned to make salsa from a Mexican gent who ran a food van that visited the base I was stationed at in SanDiego. Best damn salsa I've ever had and thank him for his recipe. I used to make my own tortillas but the store bought ones aren't sooooooooooo bad. Not as good but yeah.

Burrito is bigger and folded closed whereas a taco is smaller and just folded in half I think. I'm probably wrong though, like I say I know fuck all about mexican food (even less than I thought it seems=D.

If you ever need any tips on tasty Mexican food just ask. You can get some decent chipotle out of Sainsburys now as well!!! Shocking I know 8o

I'm lucky I have a mexican Deli in town that I can get most of my stuff from. Even dried corn husks for Tamales!!!!!

I don't need any measurements at all I have common sense=D

Interested to know ingredients and methodolgy though.

well it's NOT COOKED so like a blended Pico de Gallo. Lime, Tomatoes ( usually roma or something small and rich ) Coriander, onions, Jalapenos and garlic. SIMPLE!!! It just depends on what you like as to quantities. Oh and salt sadly.... I don't normally salt things but this is one that needs it.

Don't think I left anything out. So there ya go. Best salsa I've ever had and it was soooooo bloody simple I thought the guy was lying to me!!!!

What sort of jalapenos? Most of the time I've heard salsa recipes from mexican people they have been really simple tbh. I've often made salsas more like a pico de gallo (unblended) myself.

Pretty much everything needs salt btw:p;)

if you know how to season properly you don't need salt ;)

Also....... unblended, That would just be Pico De gallo.... =D

No really, everything needs salt. I'm not even being funny there, practically everything needs salt. Given that I've worked in one, two and three michelin starred restaurants I'm not entirely shit at seasoning%)

Yeah it seems on not too hot on my nomenclature, I wouldn't even know wtf pico de gallo is if I hadn't just had a look.

I imagine the main issue with trying to make a nice salsa in this country is trying to get a half decent tomato.

you are very right there. The tomato seems to be the key!!!

I've been not badly trained myself in the kitchen!!!

If you think you can cook without salt I disagree:p;)

What kind of jalepenos do you think? Rehydrated dried? That's what is genreally used in mexican food isn't it?

FRESH!!!!! OMG! Why would anyone use anything other in salsa!!! NO! FRESH!!! you could use dehydrated but that would mostly be CHIPOTLE!!!! Well dried and smoked....

If you think you need salt then I doubt your skills my friend.
