Noticed the originator of the old thread deleted it for some reason. Seems a bit harsh on the 11 pages of input that it contained. Let's fire up a new one.

Been downloading a bunch of Reason Refills myself, hoping to build upon what I learned in the last track I made and come up with something decent and fast paced.

That is a bit much. I don't think thread creators should be able to delete threads that are longer than a certain number of posts. The more other people contribute, the less it's "their" thread.

Quite right. Can only assume the OP had their reasons...But I have no intention of ever deleting this thread ;) Fear not, amateur music producers!

dubstep's easy. Just take it nice and slow, wobble bass, duh duh duh duh, use shrieking noises instead of any melody.

vvwwowwwwwww........... duh duh duh duh
aaarrrghhh!.................... duh duh duh duh
wubawubwwubawwuba......... duh duh duh duh

Agreed! Like the TC thread

Most of the forums of yore I frequented had this very rule in fact. There was a weeks timescale or some such

I'm going to listen to Alb's track later. I <3 boards of canada. You will either have made a fool of yourself, or entered some kind of hall of fame. ;)

I always come into this thread (well and the last one) and feel embarrassed at the shit I produce. It all puts my stuff to shame. Does anybody have any tips on making melodys? Its the weakest bit of my many weak points.

^ Analyse the melodies you like in other songs, and work out what makes them work.
