EADD Film Recommendations v5 - TBC

@1394 - Alasdair is denying that the 2006 version exists for humorous effect, he also refuses to acknowledge it's existence becuase of the utter contempt he feels for the film due to the fact that it's shockingly poor and secondly, the 1973 film is an exceptional horror film, how dare Hollywood trample on such a legendary piece of art. Quite frankly, I agree with him.

I am the same with war of the worlds and the day the earth stood still how did they think they could improve on them

Some films should be untouchable. Imagine a Jaws remake, or a Blade Runner reboot? The very thought sickens me.

I would never watch the new Total Recall. The first one is fantastically amazing, such a complex story, most folk see it as a dumbass Arnie flick, but it's sooooooo much more. Based on a Phillip K Dick Story as well....

yes i read that do androids dream of electric sheep before i saw the film maybe that spoiled the film for me as i wasnt that taken with the film...exactly the same with the green mile too i know different author but films can never do what your mind can envision

'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep' is Blade Runner amigo, Total Recall is based on 'We'll Rememeber It For You Wholesale'.

Total Recall is so different though, it really is 'loosely based'.

Kuato Lives.

Yeah, Green Mile is Stephen King aye?

That reminds me, I used to have a really good mix years ago called 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Beats' - I must look into this 'cause I cannae mind who it was by.

Nice piece of analysis there. So much better than the sarky burn I had all planned out in my head. :sus:

OH THANKS! I hadn't realized this.

i see what you've done here :)

alasdair

Why do people always say that? I mean, what purpose does it serve... truly? + it's only half of the picture to begin with.

@felix don't hold your breath, aye?

Alasdair was merely indicating that he understood the reference I was making. I jokingly called you "Mr Firewire" because, well, look it up here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_1394

Do you tend to have trouble understanding basic concepts? Especially when it comes to this mysterious thing humans call "humour"?

BOOM! =D

Bit of an offbeat movie that is worth checking out

He Never Died - Jack, a social outcast, is thrust out of his comfort zone when the outside world bangs on his door and he can't contain his violent past.

It's labeled as comedy / horror - but that doesn't do it justice, pretty hard to say anything else without spoiling it.
