🗣️ General Discussion 🗣️ EADD animal food debate

I have positive opinion of administering CBD to dogs for genuine medical reasons or for NYE. It has not been shown to be harmful, and logically it should not be same way THC is. Maybe we need more studies but it is probably still better than letting dog suffer of noises or joint pains or seizures.

100% agree. One of our cats was dying. After researching the shit out of it we started giving her what was commonly held to be the optimal cbd dose

Her whole demeanor completely changed half an hour after the first dose from confused/upset/resistant/clearly in pain/no appetite at all/not a purr to be heard to relaxed/content/accepting/enjoying her food and purring her head off. She was due to be euthanised the following day but she had an extra 4 weeks of life and good life at that, the weather was glorious all month (incredibly unusual for my location) and she spent most of it in a 'nest' she made in our overgrown garden luxuriating in the sunshine and clearly enjoying the chill.

So yeah, CBD apparently potentially miraculous for animals The vet was amazed. too.

Please don't give your pets crack...

I might look into CBD, Flo's been a bit stressed since we got the kittens they don't fight or anything but she hisses at them a lot and won't let anyone pet her when they're in the room.
You would think that your first sentence above would go without saying really, but apparently not.

We were dosing our 3.5kg cat 5mg cbd daily, which was handy as our oil was 5mg/drop

Only way she would take it was if the drop of oil was soaked into a catnip-dreamie!

That's good to know. Although I am a 'dog person' rather than a cat person, cats have recently been starting to grow on me quite a lot. Their main appeal being that they are a lot more independent and self sufficient than dogs, and don't require hours of attention and exercise etc every day......

If you ever have another poorly cat, I'd try it on a little natural valerian root. They go wild for the smell of it, and presumably they would also very much enjoy the chilled and soporific effects it gives humans.

Seeing as how naturally inclined they are to laze, snooze, and chill their time away already.

Cats also go really cray for wild mint too, almost like catnip in it's effect

We discovered this when one of my kids picked some recently for cooking and the cat jumped on the worksurface, dived into the mint and rolled round in it ecstatically, managing to shove a big glass jug off said worksurface with the inevitable result aaagh.

I've always been a dog person too, always liked cats but never thought it would be possible to have a similarly reciprocal relationship with one like ya can with a pooch but, newsflash - it's defo possible
