E-Z Test Fluid is brownish at first...

I have had my ez-test for about two months and store it in the freezer except when I take it to parties with me, the problem is that the last two times I used it the color turned brown for about half a second before immediatly going purple/black. Is this normal? Could the tester have gone bad or is there possibly some other substance present besides MDxx.?

Well I'm no expert, but many of my great pills have turned slightly brown and then quickly changed to purple/black. To be honest, I'm not so sure that it's a straight up brown...I think it's really just what the black/puple color looks like before it develops.

I must admit that in my eyes, good pills seem to go brown/red more than purple straight away, but then definitely go dark purple.
If the testing solution is brown however, then its an old tester and needs replacing.
