if you take the amphetamine the day before you roll, you may very well decrease the intensity of the roll. Contrary to what most people think , mdma's effects are due to more neurotransmitters than serotonin. MDMA is an amphetamine. Amphetamines typically release dopamine and norepinephrine, and only a small amount of serotonin. However, mdma actually has a methylenedioxy group attached to the methamphetamine molecule. This makes it look more like serotonin, and in fact, this addition gives it extra ability to release serotonin. It also has a slight ability to bind to the 5-HT2 receptor (responsible for very mild psychedelic effects). It is less of a stimulant than typical amphetamines (adderall and meth), but it does still release dopamine. The dopamine and the serotonin combination is what gives MDMA its euphori effects, energy, and the intense emotional connection. taking all that adderall at before the mdma experience will make your brain more resistant to the dopamine effects , thus creating a tolerance to some of the effects of mdma, possibly diminishing the intensity.
Drugs that release only serotonin (such as MDAI) , do not have the magic associated with mdma.
