DXM syrup & Daily prozac intake.

Hello, i've researched this days about DXM and im vaery intreted in trying it, but have read also that it would have a bad interaction while taking SSRI, wich i take 20mg of prozac on a daily basis. Id like to know, hoy many time i should quit the prozac before safely taking the DXM. Beside that im sure that the syrup i will take is onle DXM 15mg/5ml in a bottle of 120ml wich would make a dose of 360mg of DXM. Hoping to have a soon answer, greetings.
 
You're right, DXM + SSRI can cause serotonin syndrome, which can be fatal.

Prozac/fluoxetine has a very long half life, which increases the longer you are taking the drug for. It could take a couple of weeks for it to be completely out of your system, so it's not really practical to stop it temporarily so you can have some DXM.

Also, stopping a medication for your depression just for some DXM doesn't seem like it would be worth it IMO..

Yeah i take medication for anxious depression, prozac and klonopin, been taking daily prozac for 5 years now, so im thinking to let the DXM ot of my sistem and stick to the classic psycodelics, any other opinion would be appreciated.

I'm going to go ahead and close this thread now as we don't really deal with DXM questions here in Basic Drug Discussion. If you go to Psychedelic Discussion you will find many threads and mega threads on DXM and all of the other classic and non classic Pyschedelics. Which is really I think where you should be looking for the answers to your questions.

If anyone has any problems with my closing of the thread or think that it should be reopened then shoot me a PM
