Sorry if this pops up multiple times, I'm having a hell of a time figuring out how to use this site. Anyways. I recently found a whole bunch of dxm pills, 10 mg dxm 325 mg acetaminophen and 5 mg phenylephrine each. I figured I could dissolve out a good bit of the shit I dont want and syphon it out, leaving the wet gunk at the bottom to dry off. And have a predominantly better substance, although not perfect, my concern is after doing this, I found the remaining dry powder to have almost no taste..kinda like flour, which is a good indicator that there's not much acetaminophen, but I was under the impression that dxm in powder form tasted awful, so I'm at a crossroads in my brain about what this could mean. Any help would be appreciated!

You're doing exactly the opposite of what you should be doing. The powder you've gotten is probably mostly acetaminophen and you syphoned the DXM out.

I suggest you find a DXM-only product that doesn't contain acetaminophen or sympathomimetics like phenylephrine.

Anyway, welcome to Bluelight!

But from everything I've read acetaminophen dissolves in water? And every single post on here says that dxm doesn't dissolve well, I'm not saying youre wrong, I'm just getting mixed messages

100 ml of water at 25 deg C dissolves 1500 mg of DXM Hydrobromide (the form of DXM in most products). Acetaminophen dissolves poorly in cold water and a little better in warm water.

You're right about DXM tasting bitter, if the powder is tasteless, it's obviously mostly acetaminophen.

Yep it's true that acetaminophen dissolves poorly in cold water, that's why CWEs work, I think it's 5mg per ml IIRC so if you don't use much water you'll be able to filter out most of the apap
