dxm induced lsd flashback?

i haven't done enough acid to get flashbacks, and it's listed as a long term use symptom? yesterday i had 12 oz of tussin for the dxm (drank it pretty slowly though) and it wasn't too intense (dxm doesn't effect me like it used to? i don't even do it often) except the ceiling light begun to morph into an alien humunculous with sassy multi colored lights. so, what i'm saying is. i started hallucinating. but this was lsd hallucinating, not dxm. i had hallucinations like this until i fell asleep.

The term is misused so frequently that it should first be clear what kind of experience you have and - what I am thinking right now - if it isn't just an overwhelmingly intense one... which can just be intense to a certain extent at a moment it is unwanted!...

If so, you should still be careful but don't read into the phenomenon flashbacks too much. However it's not a big problem to be careful enough to try and avoid overwhelming things in general and also HPPD which is covered here:

Why did you assume that the visuals were not from dxm? I have had open eye visuals from high dosages of dxm. 12oz is 3 typical bottles of dxm which is a decent enough dose, so it might have caused the effects you saw.

dxm has never, ever produced those kinds of visuals for me and it isnt supposed to? i have had visuals with it, but nothing like this. this was intense. it was elaborate. it was....not dxm. i just found it very odd that this could happen with only having tripped a few times, but i think i did so much dxm over a period of a couple of days that it pushed it out.

solipsis, it was not unwanted or bad in any way. just kind of odd. it was like i was dosed again for a short time. i stayed in the same spot on the floor and looked at the light a lot, afraid it would stop.

oh, it does kind of sound like the light was just looking trippy. no, the walls were ancient tapestries and melted, molded chocolate native american women and stuff like that.
