DXM - First Real Time - 2nd Plateau

Readin this has inspired me to post because I just took a much lighter 2nd plateau trip with a friend a couple weeks ago.

We were going to a rave that weekend, and we didn't have any money for E, so I said "Hey let's do this DXM stuff I've been reading about." I did our body weight and figured that a safe 2nd plateau dose for us would be like 250 mg or so... so we did 350 mg each.

I weigh 130 lbs and J weighs 160 lbs.

We took Robutussin Maximum Strength... that was around a bottle and a 1/3 I beleive.

This was actually my second attempt, the night before I tried 120 mg just to see what the effect was light, the 120 mg was so light that I barely noticed most of the trip, though I did walk into a wall.

We took the robutussin mixed in orange juice around 7:30 and went into the rave around 8:00. At about 8:30 we were chillin listening to one of the DJs sets since the place was very empty still, and we started to feel a drunk like feeling. Sorta got some silly thoughts, started smiling, body started to fade away.

Somewhere between 9pm and 10pm we started completely going. J smoked a cigarette and felt sick afterwards but didn't vomit... I had read that nicotine can make you feel sick on DXM so I didn't smoke any cigarettes.

We didn't mix anything with the DXM that night at all besides the few cigarettes he had.

About 30 minutes after his cigarette, I started dancing like mad. I've never danced so much at a rave. Never so much sober, never so much on E. I was light, my body was gone, I couldn't feel myself breathing but I was familiar with the sensation from my only acid trip, so I instead used it for personaly amusement.

My body vanished entirely in rather short order, and my vision quickly went down the dumpster. Sounds sounded VERY far away, even though the music was blasting it was faded for me. I went outside and talked to some people, and when I went inside under the blacklight, I realized how completely wasted I really was. I couldn't see for more then about 5 feet. Serious tunnel vision, you could only focus on certain things you were seeing, periphreal vision was mauled. Anything besides what was close and directly looked at was extremely blurry. I got a few lightshows, enjoyed the streakers, was in general pretty messed up. But I danced a LOT, I couldn't feel my body so I couldn't tell when I was tired... I just kept dancing.

After awhile I found J again, he was sitting in the back of the room. He looked up to me and I was like "How's it goin?" He just stared for a moment, then looked around the room, and then said "Dude, I am so lost. Where the fuck are we. This place is fake, none of it's real." Despite this he was actually having a very good time. He was still trippin off lightshows he got for like 30 seconds after the person stopped. Normally I'm the one who gets far wasted then everyone else, but I couldn't even sit down, I just had to dance.

Lots of dancing. Not a lot of socializing, I couldn't really talk that effectively. I only took 350 mg so I didn't totally dissassociate. It felt like I looking out of a perspective 4 inches higher then my eyes, but to some degree I still realized I had a body. I had some difficulty dancing how I wanted to as I couldn't feel my feet.

He was lost in his peak for about 3 hours, and then he started to come back to reality and started dancing a lot more. He hadn't floored it the entire 3 hours but a good portion of it he was too confused to dance. They were playing happy hardcore downstairs and we danced as our trip faded, very easily, with no come down. It was like going from confusion to clear headed, with the body buzz staying.

The body buzz lasted well into the next day, even after I'd slept. I slept completely normally though I did wake up during the night.

OH! Almost forgot, I DID mix something with it. I was having mad asthma attacks all night, (I'm fairly sure they weren't physical hallucinations.) SO I hit my Abuterol inhaler about 3 times. It didn't change my trip in any noticable way.

The day afterwards was kind of interesting, I felt slightly silly like I knew a joke no one else knew. I basically walked around feeling slightly bodiless and smirking at everything, though clear minded enough to go about daily stuff.

We both enjoyed the trip, but we agreed that 350 mg was too much for a rave for us... at our peaks we were both fairly confused and messed up. And while it does relax you, it's not in any way social as E... I actually remember the body buzz as similar to my acid trip (where I also felt completely bodiless, though I wasn't floating 4 inches above the ground). Oh also, the peak was blurry and seemed to go fast, and I don't remember some of it... but most of the rave seemed to pass EXTREMELY slowly. It can be relatively annoying to have 30 minutes seem like 3 hours, especially when you're driving.

This looks pretty long... but oh well. We found DXM fine as a recreational thing.. but we should have only taken 275-300mg instead of 350 I think.

It took around an hour to hit, lasted about 5 hours, and tailed off for a long time... but while i was light and couldn't feel tired it didn't have much of a stimulant effect and I fell asleep easily afterwards.

I've done it once since, but didn't take enough to really enjoy it... I'll probably do it again but I'm not sure if I'm ready to take a 3rd or 4th plateau dose and deal with total dissassociation...

*edit*

Oops forgot to throw in my own lil warning...
Even an upper 2nd plateau trip can be EXTREMELY disorienting and confusing, as seen with my friend who for 3 hours couldn't figure out how to stand up, and didn't beleive we were really at a rave.

It was his first time with a dissassociative, and I'd only done 120 mg before.

I definately don't suggest taking a 3rd plateau (550-600+mg) trip your first time... unless your familiar with dissassociatives and relatively ready minded to do it (no gf problems and stuff). I especially don't suggest it if you're in an area where you're gonna have to do a lot of movement, especially difficult movement.. the rave was 2 stories and I nearly fell down the stairs a dozen times.

I was in a perfect frame of mind, really excited about the rave, totally happy, no doubts or down thoughts...

Great!

Yes, DXM is definately not a rave drug, thanks for the precautions and warnings about doses and safety etc.. but you kinda did the opposite by admitting to driving on it (or even if it was the come-up/come-down).

My set seemed to have nothing to do with my first try. I was really scared and nervous about taking it because i've never tried any real dissociative's before (except salvia if you consider that a true dissociative), but in the end i really enjoyed it. I hate E and all its related phenylamines, it makes you way too intune with your emotions. DXM has that xanax effect that makes nothing bother you.

But yeah dude great post. Try taking 5 30mg for initial and 2 more 30mg about 3 hours after it kicks in, was a real blast for me and i went out in public and walked a mile with some friends to see some fireworks.
