dxm extraction with less caustic/safer chems?

i'm not too well versed in chemistry but know alittle about a/b & stb extractions & had an idea for a dxm extraction with more safe/easier to obtain chemicals.
Just not too sure if it works. i've already started doing it to experiment with half an z bottle of robo i had left over.

If one were to throw the syrup in a 2litre bottle, make a solution of water & sodium carbonate & mix with the syrup then shake well, in order to basify the dxm

& Then use vegetable oil as a non-polar solvent to catch the now (possibly) freebase dxm & form a separate layer

Then take the oil layer, siphon off with a funnel & add vinegar, shake well, & let sepaparte before again siphoning off the vinegar & evaporating (vinegar is to re-salt dxm & catch into something that evaps better than oil)

Would one hypothetically be left with dxm powder or is there some flaw here i'm not seeing?

Don't even bother using vegetable oil, it will degrade when exposed to acids or bases, and has very poor solvency power. Use naptha. D-limonene/orange oil muight work too,

DXM is rather polar for an alakloid, chloroform or dichloromethane are best. Ethyl acetate is 2nd place.

i read that thread actually.
I wasn't sure if it was possible to just basify the dxm & then just crash it out of the oil but i figure it's not even a good enough solvent to yeild a usable dose after reading one of the replies.
& Dxm is not worth the money for the NaOh, solvents, & acids to extract.
I'd pay for the materials if i was extracting a more worthwhile substance like dmt or msecaline but for something like dxm no way.

I mean, the supplies are under 10 bucks and get you more than one extraction. (not including the syrup) I think it would be worth it, but i have no problem drinking the syrup. Best option is to buy pure DXM in the first place, but playing backyard scientist is fun too.

Well i didn't come into this thread with the intent to write a tek but iwas thinking.
Most dxm useres are high school kids & solvents & chems are dangerous if one isn't careful.
So why not write a tek on how to extract dxm freebase with just sodium carbonate & a non polar solvent that can be evapped to leave dxm powder?
It seems like a STB extraction would take less work & the acid parts not really needed.

& yes i usually drink the syrup too. & i will not order drugs online. just seems too traceable to me. plus the thought that the vendor may or may not just give u a different substance labelled as dxm & its suspicious when a large bag of powder is mailed to a house.

seeing that i had dxm syrup, baking soda to convert to sodium carbonate & basify the dxm, & something oily to create a separate layer i ifigured i'd give my brain a rest & try & extract. then i realized the freebase would stay in the oil & its not easy to evap.
So i needed to throw an acid in to re-salt the dxm & get it into a solution which evaps easy.
