Durban Poison

That is going to make it hard to teach people how to grow...

Uhm, no it isn't. We just don't allow that kind of information, people should have to figure out for themselves where they have to buy their stuff. You can give pointers on what to buy but no links or discussions on where to buy, it doesn't add much value to the dicsussions. We have rules that way, I didn't make em, but they're there.

I know man, I am not blaming you.

Just saying it can make it hard.

The mail order seed business is crawling with rip off artists.

At icmag you can give your opinion on what source is the most reliable, which is a very valid contribution to someone trying to source quality genetics.

I am sure there are other rules that will make things difficult.

bluelight is great for many things, I just don't think it will work good for Cannabis growing info.

For one thing, most people here don't grow.

The extreme moderation I think will also be a problem.

It would be awesome if it did get more threads about growing though, just because bluelight has so much traffic.

So I support what you said about more people getting growing help/info on bluelight, I just think it isn't the best place right now is all.

For instance, you know for a fact a certain person is reliable, because your a member of a certain site that is sponsored by a certain individual who provides a certain service.

Even though you knew the source was spot on, you had to remove the advice, because of certain rules.

If that is the only rules that will effect growing advice I guess it would be fine.

I remember having a picture removed I posted because it contained 6 herb plants though, I guess just because they where really big plants, no bigger than standard outdoors plants though, just indoors.

The picture was removed for no reason though.

Ah, I don't know.

Update!

Little accident... pushed me back a bit, but we're back on track. Only two varieties though, AK47/Durban Poison and BigBud/NL. Just gotta figure out how to do attachments again...

D

Is there no way to attach photos anymore? I have to go through photobucket or something? nvm, I got a handle on it.

First two photos are my rooted clones: 9 BigBud/NL to the left and 6 AK47/Durban Poison to the right. Infront of them is my little cloning chamber currently housing fresh cuttings... 34 BB/NL and 28 AK/Durban.

The next two photos are pics of my remaining moms (after taking clones yesterday). 3 BB/NL 1 AK/Durban and 2 K2 (not doing anything with them, probably pass them on to someone who'd care more for them). You can still see the results from 3 days of bone dry soil, death of an exhaust fan, and overferting on the first watering after the "drought"... ugh, somehow 5 still survived *shrug*, can't complain about strong ladies. Last pic is of my pride and joy, my one remaining AK/Durban mummy, wish I would have taken a pic before the trim, the nodes are so tight and dark green/purple leaves and stems, just beautiful, haha.

BTW, the clones looked mangled because... well... they are! Lotsa LST and topped/cuttings from them yesterday along with mums.

Here's an example of of what the clones go through, twisting, breaking, topping, trimming :D

Don't mind the fried fan leaf... 15W CFL - 1 .... Fan Leaf - 0

The Durban Poison i had was some of the best fucking weed ever. Bright green, with a very fruity type of smell. Since its 100% sativa, its a total head high and you really start feeling that shit after the first couple hits.

I would never want to cross it with an indica, that would just take away from it IMO.

Mmmmm. DP was definetly better then the AK/Hash plant though.

I haven't had the chance to try any pure DP yet. But this AK/DB cross is just awesome, plus I need the flowering time to be down so I can chop before the snow starts comin down, haha. If I start flowering indoor I'll have to see about getting a pure DB cross.

Found some spider mites this morning on my lone durban mom. Sprayed with a mix of epsom salt, lemon juice and dish detergent. I need to pick up a couple more ingredients to finish the mite killer recipe, but the citrus and detergent should slow the infestation til tomorrow.

damn those plants look pretty stocky, but the leaves are quite small. you definitely need to spring for nice big pots and a nutrient-rich soil mix so your babies can spread their roots and absorb the nutrition those leaves need to fatten up so they can load the roots up on plenty of sugar for flowering otherwise you're going to get really frail buds. hard to tell when the peak harvest time is with a mix that's pretty much exactly 50/50 sativa/indica... personally I'd chop a few days after the trichomes start to turn cloudy. Keep us updated :)

The mums are definately barebones, I just took 10+ healthy sized cuttings off each of them. I'll be doing one more cut off of my mums in 2-3 weeks and then they're getting the toss (or stuck outside to fend for themselves). My clones right now I'm just doing some aggressive LST to get big fat stems and promote as much branching as possible.

The goal was to have 80 well trained 18" plants ready to go outside Late May. But now I'm thinking of taking a couple cuttings off of each 70-80 clones before putting them out. Then rooting the cuttings I took and put them out later in the season (July maybe). I want to see how much size the late season plants will put on. If they perform well (considering size and length of time allowed to grow), I'd much rather have 3X as many plants that are easier to hide and a smaller yield per plant than 6-9 foot higher yield giants. *shrug*

instead of bending have you tried lst? it won't put your plant into shock and still give you the results your looking for.

either way nice job on them

I suppose I'm using "LST" incorrectly... it's more High Stress Training. I really should try to do LST instead, but it's a real pain in the ass to tie down 20+ (soon to be 70+) clones. If I find some extra time the next couple days I think I'm going to start tying instead... get those shoots blasting northward.
