I was just curious if anyone else has ever found a drug that caused them to lucid dream. The only drug that I have found induces lucid dreaming for me is Gabapentin (Neurontin). Every time i would take over 900mgs I would be guaranteed to have a lucid dream....it got to the point where i was looking forward to sleep more then being awake because the lucid dreaming was getting so fun. I remember being able to create whole new worlds while i was sleeping....the only weird part was the more I lucid dreamed the more the dreams would get harder to control and more chaotic.

I'm not sure any drugs would truly induce a state of lucid dreaming, but I can imagine some maybe making you more receptive to it occurring.

It's been a long time since I've actually had a lucid dream, but I think that melatonin would be a good, safe candidate as an answer to your question.

That is actually true, I guess there really aren't any drugs known just for inducing lucid dreaming because obviously there would be a market for them and some one would be making alot of money. So I guess what im wondering is has anyone else taken a drug that has more then once induced lucid dreaming? I know what works for one person mite not work for another but Ive actually let my buddy use my neurontin in the hopes that he would lucid dream and amazingly enough he did. Now don't get me wrong, I have no idea if he was bullshitting me or not but hes a pretty trustworthy dude and I don't feel he would lie about it. I don't know maybe I think this is a bit more interesting then most, or maybe there just isn't alot of other people that has had it happen to them after taking a drug...regardless if anyone has any thoughts lemme know!! Oh and melatonin helps me have crazy dreams that I remember very clearly, but I have never become lucid while dreaming after taking melatonin.

^^Heard it makes the dreams more "vivid" Ive never heard anything about lucid dreams while on one....I know from people that have taken them before that they can cause nightmares.

I've heard smoking weed every night before bed for a long time then suddenly stopping can trigger some really lucid/vivid dreams.

^ stopping weed does indeed give you crazy-vivid dreams! Was kinda fun but some of them had me waking up feeling exhausted..

Never managed a lucid dream.

Since i began using heroin every day, most of my dreams i have are extrememly vivid and feel like there so real that when i wake up i think that it actually happend or was still going on, like i talking to ppl , hugging, doing everything normal but i was in control of my body. Its hard to expalain but it felt extremely real to the MAX
!!!

Ambien always gave me crazy dreams. D-amphetamine did too, when I would finally fall asleep on it.

The ambien gave me vivid dreams, whereas the d-amp was more lucid, like I would tell stories or make decisions in the dreams that I normally would IRL.

Nicotine patch will definitely cause your dreams to become a lot more vivid, making it a lot easier to enter a lucid dream state..

I warn you tho.. nicotine patch dreams are messed up ;) (EDIT: Oh.. you already knew that xD)

With a little surfing i found this:
Do Any Drugs/Supplements Make Lucid Dreaming Easier? (Back to Top)
There are a few herbs, drugs and supplements that can be taken to increase your chances of success with lucid dreaming. The magnitude of their effect on dreaming can vary a lot from person to person and from day to day. Some people may at some point have great success, while others may not get much of an effect.

Calea Zacatechichi (a.k.a. Dream Herb) is a herb that can often make dreams more vivid and help with dream recall. It is best to take this herb while doing a WBTB (Wake Back to Bed), this is so that it has more of a chance of it's effective time being within the time you have a REM period (when you have a dream).

Artemisia Vulgaris (a.k.a. Mugwort) is a herb which can make dreams more vivid, and helps with dream recall and control. You may want to take this while doing a WBTB (Wake Back to Bed), but take it 20-30 minutes before going back to sleep.
Be careful with this herb, make sure you don't take too much, as it contains Thujone which is toxic in quantities too large.

Silene Capensis (a.k.a. African Dream Root) is a herb which can make dreams very vivid and helps your dream recall. This needs to be taken daily for a few days before great effects will be shown. It can sometimes cause vomiting and nausea if too much is taken at a time.

Galantamine is a drug which is said to increase dream vividness and recall. This is best taken just before going back to sleep in a WBTB (Wake Back to Bed) as it acts quickly. You can most commonly get them in 8, 16 and 24mg tablets. This should not be taken by people with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI).

Vitamin B5 is a supplement which can be used with protein, carbohydrates and choline to help increase dream vividness and recall. This can be taken before bed or WBTB (Wake Back to Bed) as it acts quickly, but the effects stay for a longer.
B5 can be found in foods such as meats, eggs, whole grains and others.

Vitamin B6 has similar effects as B5, however, it is best taken with Tryptophan. Be careful with Vitamin B6, because it can be overdosed. Try to stay under 100mg per day of B6.

Choline can be used with things such as B5 or Galantamine to increase dream vividness and recall. Do not take this if you suffer from Trimethylaminuria.

Melatonin can make you dream longer and more vividly, taken with vitamin B6 or calcium. Take it before bed rather than WBTB. Do not take melatonin if you have poor blood circulation or low blood pressure. It is also illegal in Canada.

But why not just do it the old fashion way? get your self a book, and a pen... and you are all set.

^ All i used to do was wake up at 4ish AM.. then get up.. go and get a small snack and go back to bed.. From the moment i wake to the moment i lose consciousness I repeating (in my head): "This is a dream, I am dreaming. This is a dream, I am dreaming".. seriously in less than a week i had my first one then had about 3 a week for quite a while.. i wasn't even trying to do it after the first couple weeks.

Opiates often induce, IME, sleep paralysis and extraordinarily vivid dreams. I am sure they could very well induce lucid dreams, as well, though I wouldn't recommend them for that sole purpose due to their obvious addictive qualities.

I believe that trazodone is known to induce lucid dreaming. I've taken trazodone only once or twice myself but, in my limited experience, it seems to work.

^^ive used trazodone for a while and never had any lucid dreams, it deff made my dreams more positive for some reason. Sleeping with a fentanyl patch on always causes me to have insane dreams too.

The atypical antipsychotic Quetiapine in my experience not only made my dreams more vivid (as in recall), but also made them more structured, lifelike, and have a proper story to them not whacky and all over the place. This could be very useful for lucid dreams. I've only taken it on a few occasions as a sleep aid, and dreams on quetiapine were never a surefire thing, but when they did occur they were drastically different to regular dreams.

A nicotine patch, or smoking before bed like others have said, may affect your dreams.

Quite a lot of times I have had really vivid dreams after taking Diazepam before going to bed.
I also find that if I haven't had heroin for a couple of days I will have vivid dreams, but they are usually centred around heroin in one form or another.

Honestly when I started on my anti-depressants those fuckers jumped started some crazy dreams.... It was lexapro and then celexa. I had to get off of them because the dreams I would have on them were so scary and they caused me to lucid dream... I am now on zoloft and it doesn't cause any of that shit.

Anyways I was always able to lucid dream since I was little and even now. Its weird to be honest because I never tried to and the majority of the time I thought it was normal... I didn't even know what it was and that not everyone could do it. I actually only researched it last year (yeah I know :/) and I was like holy shit! That's what I've been doing all these years. I guess it runs in the family too (well with my mom and aunt) but yeah thought I would say that.
