Drugs that hit you identically?

I'm sure this has been asked a million times. Pretty self explanatory. I mean two chemically different psychoactives that yield the exact same result for you.

So Maeng Da Kratom and Hydrocodone isn't even something I consider to be part of this, as they felt identical to begin with but very soon only felt a 95% approximate of each other, which continues to this day, though my opioid tolerance has gone down significantly and I've "quit" numerous times due to lack of interest.

Anyways, I've only had one instance of this sort of thing to this day: Muscimol and Zolpidem. For obvious reasons, I ingested far more of the latter. However, every single experience with the former (has to be in the double digit range, but I couldn't tell you how many exactly) has been a z-drug administered via mushroom as far as I can tell.

That's a pretty interesting pair. Did you ingest the mushroom or pure muscimol? After all, the mushroom is considered more of a dissociative/deliriant than a sedative, am I correct? Or did you feel psychedelic effects from the zolpidem? Would you recommend trying the mushroom by the way? It's been on my to-do list for quite a while, I just haven't got to it yet.

My substance (ab)use expertise is a little more exotic, I actually haven't practically any experience with the usual drugs (except alcohol and a few more); so I can't say that I have experienced exactly same results from different drugs. Closest thing to "the same" would probably be huffing ethyl acetate and huffing petroleum ether (the low boiling one, probably mainly isomers of pentane). I did both only once and in pretty small amounts, but from what I felt they were very similar for me. Both were pretty useless and boring compared to the mighty solvent god Diethyl Ether.

Ingested amanita each time. Always found them to be more "magic" than psilocin mushrooms, down to such a striking appearance. I wouldn't know how to or know anyone who could extract muscimol, nor do I think that'd be a good idea seeing as it's toxic and the mushroom is a lot easier of an estimate for me to go on than someone's word when it comes to that sort of thing.

But yeah, Zolpidem was sedating for about two weeks at most. Very quickly I began to experience euphoria that hasn't been topped by any opiate or stimulant I've tried and the drug took the form of a dissociative. I believe it always was such for me, although not much of a deliriant in any way and the same goes for muscimol. Both were always very kind to me, though I suppose with some people dissociation may be synonymous with being delirious, depending on how much it affected their grip on reality and how much they valued it. I do very much, so my preferred heavy psychedelics are short in duration and I have sworn off cannabis for good as it induces nothing but paranoia and is definitely some sort of deliriant when I metabolize it.

Like most dissociatives or psychedelics, I can't really recommend it. I can say that it was very, very good for me, but what's great for one person is going to suck for another. Already mentioned what I thought of cannabis; people love DXM, I hate it. People love alcohol and it leaves a lot to be desired for me. People love benzos and they've never been enjoyable at any real frequency in my experience. On the other hand, people hate phencyclidine, I quite enjoy it. Also enjoy LSA and nutmeg, both of which will usually turn someone off just at ingestion, nevermind their disliking the effects. I'll go as far as saying that datura, while terrible, was worth trying just for the impact and experience.

Ether...I think I'm fairly well traveled compared to many (which is still nothing) but haven't touched that one. I've had was nitrous, though. I tend to stay away from inhalants. Not even due to any sort of tangible concern, only out of the concern that I'll end up liking one too much and eventually will induce some sort of brain damage at a higher rate than I currently am. I'd probably still try it though.

Disclaimer: I know that the following post is totally off-topic, but I'll proceed anyway.

I like your taste in psychoactives. After diving head in into the realm of psychedelia years ago with big doses of LSD/LSZ, LSA, nutmeg, I've developed a lot of respect for psychedelics, so now years later I'm actually kind of afraid to go back out of pure fear. My journey came to a halt after trying datura in a very small dose; it was a worthy experience, the real hallucinations and confusion totally overshadow LSD-esque substances in that regard. Yet after having experienced what I came to believe was (thankfully only moderate) acute kidney failure after overdosing on HBWR and the shock that accompanied it, I didn't have the gut to go deeper into datura out of fear for my physical being. Someday though, I would like to further investigate datura, try amanita and maybe PCP.

On topic though, I understand you may have noticed that I didn't mention LSD and LSZ pair in my first post, even though they're very often said to be very similar. For me, they were rather different. At 400 μg LSD was a horrific experience; I did manage to bring something positive from it, but other than that it was a pointless torture. The only time I did enjoy LSD was at 70 μg, but that was threshold and comparable to opioids in terms of headspace (I know, weird comparison). LSZ, on the other hand, was excellent. At 450 μg it was a blast - pronounced visuals ( everything was melting) and so on, but I didn't lose my mind. There was no paranoia and severe confusion, I was able to tap into my soul and explore it without having to give up my mind.

LSA (HBWR) of course is very different from LSD and LSZ, but not in a bad way. In terms of profoundedness I maybe would even put it above LSD and possibly LSZ too. If only I wasn't afraid for my kidneys...

Oh and by the way, ether as far as I know is not even that bad for your health. It's certainly healthier than ethanol, and I don't think it produces brain damage unless you do it daily for prolonged periods of time. Other inhalants though... yeah those you should steer clear of. Toluene was not a bad experience, but my body felt like a total wreck for days afterwards. I love the smell though.
