Drugs, Inc :Ecstasy on History Channel. Thoughts?

I don't know about anyone else, but I was fired up to see this.... but after watching it, I thought the information was somewhat obtuse. Anyone else catch this show? If so, what did you think?

I saw it, found the production part concerning the sassafras oil to be interesting. But, like most American drug documentaries, I found it biased. Call me an asshole but I was laughing so much at the Ultra kid in the last scene. "Are you going to tell my parents?".... "Dude, I don't even know your parents, relax". hahaha. Check out the UK version of the documentary Hooked... I think it's much more honest.

yeah that kid was definitely not on MDMA or solely MDMA, but the documentary failed to make that distinction.

I found the part about the dealer who went to the funeral of the girl who OD'd on what was said to be MDMA. He felt badly for his part in her death. I didn't pay much attention after that but, I'm certain that the pills she took weren't MDMA. I don't think the documentary bothered to mention that though.

That documentary was total bullshit. They made it sound in the last segment like if u tooiek e u would die they made no mention whatsoever of all the aldulterated pills in the country nor the fact that most likely over 90% of the pills circulating the US are not even real ecstasy. ThaT dumbfick in the last segment was not even on ecstasy he was riding the pipetrain to hell! They really made no effort to describe the wonderful effect or the benefiets of ecstasy. What really bothered me was the fact that they made no mention of the adulterated pills and that that what people are going to the hospital for not the 1 in 1million that goes to the hospital for dehydration.
I think one of us from bluelight and pr should make our own documentary and submit it if u ask me!

Seems like this was show anything you can, as bent as you can. I have seen way better more balanced mdma based doc shows. Utter asshole, I did not appreciate the presentation.

The show was lacking in direction. I appreciated the therapeutic segment, but the last scene with the paramedics was completely useless, plus the dude wasn't experiencing anything close to mdma.

I don't expect much from the series.

Wait a minute the title says history channel mindtricks says discovery channel it wasn't either lol it was the on A&E I think (UMM NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC PEOPLE)

dude at the end clearly didnt take mdma. He got piped or something. He said "Why does anyone do this drug?" now he will probably never muster up the courage to get some real MDMA and enjoy its wonders. :P Sad stuff. Also hated how it said "Casualties will continue to pile up" No1 is dying from MDMA itself. Its also really hard to OD on mdma. :P It can only do so much.

I have not seen this documentary yet i am waiting for it to be released onto Hulu however I wonder when they will do a Drugs Inc special on Alcohol and tobacco.....:?

Yea the show is from natgeo. Most episodes are very unbiased and comprehensive but they didn't do a very good job on the ecstasy one. I thought it was one of the worst episodes. Lets hope next weeks one on hallucinogens is better.

ohh my bad, on nat geo--- i guess i got a little too stoned (damn volcano vaporizer) on sunday night... yeah why did i think history channel? haha

I will say though, every time they flashed to that image dramatized image of a bucket full of pills, my mouth would water.

These news organizations do a horrible job reporting ecstasy. One time on the news I saw a report saying how the cops siezed like 50,000 ecstasy pills and they showed em all bagged up and they were the Obama cutouts. Never once did they mention that they were being sold as ecstasy and nit the real stuff. I think there just to ignorant and misinformed when it comes to this drug.

people that complain that ecstasy users are hurting the environment are hypocrites. if they use any paper products, drive a car, fly in a plane, they are impacting the environment far more than buying a few pills

I love how they like to blame the rainforest being destroyed on drug users. Safrole isn't followed to MDMA labs. There is no way of knowing whether the safrole coming from these trees is going towards MDMA manufacture or legitimate commerce. The majority of safrole harvested each year goes towards piperanol production for the fragrance industry and piperonyl butoxide for the insecticide industry. These products are all made in kilotons. This all compounds with the fact that a lot MDMA labs don't even use safrole anymore. Just an example of people blaming problems on drugs while actually being the cause of these very problems every time they buy a bottle of perfume or spray their lawn.

No synthesis discussion. If you're interested pick up a organic chem textbook and a copy of the merck index and read.

that kid that was in the ambulance was 110% on piperazines...the kid was fine and just bugging out and the paramedics were trying not to laugh.
