Drugs in the workplace (Merged)

I run the security for a country club so my job consists of sitting in a cozy office with about 40 cameras, light music in the background, and not alot of work to do. Just to stay sane for 8 hours, I have to take either 20mg's dones or 1.5mg xans, and of course talk on Bluelight. Having a job where u don't do anything is a million times harder than having a busy job...trust me on that one.

Im an alarm dispatcher, meaning i call police/ambulance for any breakins/medical emergencies for elderly people, night shift = high like a kyte.

I worked at a telemarketing--er 'fundraising'-- firm for about six months. out of the four employees (myself included) that were there for my entire stint, 75% were IV heroin addicts, 25% were IV coke addicts, and another 50% were more than occasional recreational IV coke users, 100% were alcoholics, 100% smoked weed 5-7 days per week, 100% would shoot/snort/eat basically any pill put in front of them.

one coworker would take 2 hour lunches, come back and go straight to the bathroom, then stumble out 30 minutes later with his shirt half unbuttoned, his belt hanging unbuckled, bleeding profusely from multiple puncture wounds in his arm, head to his desk, make a phone call then pass out cold. this happened repeatedly and nothing was said or done by the dude in charge. the three of us that were addicted to opiates would go to lunch together and if we couldn't score in the alloted hour, we'd call with some retarded excuse and show up 30 minutes to an hour late-- nodding as we walked in the door. i can't even begin to guess how many times we had 'car problems' or 'trouble cashing our checks.' the supervisor allowed this behavior because we made him money, pure and simple.

i'm not going to lie, i still look back on that job as one of the most fun/insane 6 months of my life.

That's crazy. I can't imagine being at work and seeing another coworker stumble out of the bathroom with bleeding arms and passing out. lol. Shit I have to put make up over my tracks to hide them at work. Will be getting long sleeve shirts however soon due to winter (yay).

I'm a dishwasher, I've taken tramadol before work and it gave me alot of energy and made working easier.

I can also easily duck out and smoke some weed, but I don't want to waste the high.

I smoke pot on the job pretty much all day. Thats about as far as it goes, unless we got a long drive then we buy some beers. And the addicts are high all the time on w/e their doc is.

Used to work at a newspaper printing company, we were coked out 24/7 and the one guy who didnt do blow was an alcoholic.

Work is fun.

I worked at a community-based rehab program, basically workplaces that employ, for under minimum wage, people with disabilities who can't work that facilitate them being able to get a job. All males in the 18-30 range were drug users and many others applied as such too. The younger ones stuck to pot/psychedelics/coke, the others liked booze and opiates usually. I was pretty much the only hard drug user that I knew of though I only worked there a week. I'm not surprised that the disabled demographic would have a higher incidence of drug use. I was known as the heaviest user though, constantly going to work speeding and on god knows what since it was commissionary pay. I had a 3 hour workday and got paid as much as the 7 hour workers.

I would shoot oxies and heroin in the bathroom of the french restaraunt i worked at. they all knew i was using, standing there noddin out while waiting for food to be put in the window for me too serve it. The bitch manager pissed me off one day and I was high as hell so I told her to go fuck herself and I'm going to go shoot up.

the foodservice industry is full of drug users.

Restaurants, hands down. My last job was at a local sports bar, and I was introduced to a variety of substances. The most notable one being heroin. But even if they weren't on dope, everybody was on something. It ranged from marijuana to speed, and everything in between.

i work at a resutraunt now, alot of the people there smoke weed. ive taken amphetamine lines in the bathroom with a few other co workers while on shift. alot of them cant get enough lol.

I'm currently a waiter at a resturant. My boss is big into blazing on the job aswell as taking numerous nitrous hits, which def. works out for me haha. He's quite the drinker though, gets pretty silly sometimes, it's not always good (going on drunk tirades against employees, especially the Mexicans).

When I worked at a restaurant everyone was doing coke and smoking weed. Now I work in a cubicle...it's pot and painkillers. Cubicles are death.

I worked as a pizza delivery driver for a while we had a league table for the fastest and most deliveries in a month, needless to say every driver was on speed!
also worked in a cinema and nearly everyone was constantly stoned

well...the world doesnt consist of only "fancy ass restaurants, mcdonalds, construction, telemarketing, and pizza restaurants, so its not EVERY workplace.

These are just the ones that people are posting about

I work in a cubicle and have to deal with the public (support) - my anxiety is sky high so the xanax and valium do help.

Usually smoke weed every morning since I open the building & nobody arrives until about a hour after..

Perc's & E's -- I'm known as a the funny eccentric guy at work, so I can act silly and no one would be the wiser..
