Bupe Drugs and Depression

Stuff like this amazes me. Most days you feel great, but some days you feel depressed? You understand that is how life works don't you? You can't always feel great. Hell, happiness wouldn't exist if we were never sad.

Post of the day. It is easier said than done but I'd change the lifestyle instead of putting another substance to your daily stack. If your current situation allows it, why not taper down the bupe and the benzos first and after you're free from them try another route (ideally not taking anything daily). I know it is easy to suggest that, but it can be done with discipline.

Yeah at this point I am fine with considering something to help me that isnt another pill. really anything. I was just wondering what people who have experienced something like this have done. Ziiirp, I wish I didnt have to take all this shit but right now I do. I could be a lot worse and have been. I think you are right that I have to change something in my lifestyle and if you have ideas Im all ears.

The more i read your replays to peoples suggestions the more im thinkin this is a battle your having with your head. At the end of some of your replies is the "i wish there was something i could take before it gets worse." I used to be in that frame of mind but reality is even with modern medicine there is no magic pill out there that will make us feel good all the time. I wanted to find that pill and it just doesn exist. No matter what you get, even if it feels like this is the pill, it is only short term and this problem will happen again for you.

Like motiv said, you got quite a cocktail going right now. I would suggest trying to get down to as little meds as possible. If you dont mind me asking if your physically active, do you work, have a girlfriend, or do activities with your friends. Im not saying you do this but we cant feel better if we just sit around doing nothing and thinking a pill is just gonna make you feel great. We have to help our brain release some of the natural endorphins.

For me that was a hard thing to realize and it took me a while to help myself the natural way but one thing is for sure, they dont have that magic pill yet cause if they did we would all be on it. I hope i didnt come of harsh, i know where your coming from and i hope you start to feel better.

Thanks man, I totally agree with you here. It probably is in my head and your suggestions are great. I appreciate it. I try to stay active I could do a lot more though, but I have a pretty good social life I have friends to hang out with and im in school. I dont have a girl at the moment which sucks but im workin on that too. Overall, my life is normal and thats part of the reason why this depression sucks. It happens for no obvious reason.

If you think the adderall might be contributing, you could consider asking your doctor to put you on Vyvanse instead. It's a much more "gradual" drug, and so doesn't really produce a comedown the way adderall seems to.

Otherwise, you're on bup and a dopamine releaser. Both of these are totally fucking with your limbic pathways, and honestly your brain just naturally adjusts to their presence. You'll feel like shit if you just come off them--and I understand if you think the bup is still necessary for your H addiction--but longterm I think you'll have a more consistent mood if you just let your brain control its own chemical balance, rather than stuffing it full of stuff that temporarily bandaids it.

Also, some people definitely get depressed on long-term benzo treatment. Is the klonopin for anxiety? Try to pair down your dosage. If you can't sleep at night can you take a shorter acting drug instead?

Thanks man. Great advice. Out of all the shit I'm on I'd say the Klonopin is the drug I need least I mainly got on it because it goes nicely with subs. I do suffer from anxiety, but I have handled it naturally before. As for the bupe and adderall, I def need to be on it. I would be a lot worse without it. I might try switching to dexedrine and tapering off Kpins eventually.

Adderall come down is one of the worst experiences ever, one of the reasons I don't really like amphetamines. The only way I would take amphetamines is to have a drug I really do like, (hydrocodone, oxycodone, klonopin, xanax) for the comedown. Klonopin is great for depression and anxiety, but I noticed use over long periods of time make my depression worsen and I start to feel like a zombie. I only use klonopin before a social event (party, date, etc.) or when I'm having a panic attack, and only at the theraputic dose or even less. It is a very powerful drug with an extremely long half life. Also, dexedrine is the only amphetamine I would actually like to take, the come down is not nearly as bad as adderall. Happy speeding! =D
