Home Depot allows returns without a receipt. Simply shoplift enough items, and come back later claiming you bought them a week earlier (hint: go during a different shift). Don't do this more than once per store. They'll ask for your name, address and phone number, you can memorize a fake one if you want.
There's a highly gankable item used as a part of household electrical wiring, it retails for about $20, and you can fit four or five of 'em in a hoodie. I'm not telling you EXACTLY what it is, you'll have to find out for yourself.
If you get an employee that actually knows something about wiring a house, he'll ask you why you have so many circuit breakers (oops...), and he'll say "What the fuck were you doing with all these, building a house?" Simply make up a story like you were hooking up power to a small outbuilding to make a practice space for your band. It helps to come in with a cute, innocent looking girl (or BE one), and say that you bought more than you needed for your project, and you lost the receipt, etc. Don't say, "Hey, I hear you guys let people return shit with no receipt..."
Another possible item is dremel tool attachments, as they're tiny and really fucking expensive. At all the stores I've gone to these have been security tagged, tho.
Note: the preceding is a work of fiction and probably shouldn't have been viewed by small children.
Note: Most of those stories happened (except where I did something illegal, as I frown on that), but they're not in print or nothin'![]()
Ahhh...memories...The Home Depot scam...
So amazingly simple and lucrative, it was one of the easiest scams I have ever seen in my life, the only rule was you returned less than 100 dollars in goods, and you got cash back on the spot, NO reciept needed. That little scam was the sole primary income for a large percentage of the scamming drug addict demographic here in Dallas.
It was all the rage for the longest time, but most Home Depot's in the DFW area have caught on by now...last I remember most wouldn't give cash back right away anymore, you'd still get a full refund, but it was a check in the mail in 3 to 5 weeks. Of course, that reduced the number of returns dramatically. They began networking thier inventory so they could track purchases and returns better. They locked up the high traffic items (drill bits, ceartin light blubs). Tons of more shit I heard...oh well...
I never got big into scamming for shit because I wasn't hooked on drugs, but everyone knew about that one scam, it was so fucking easy, it literally was like taking candy from a baby...
