Drug Slang! [MegaThread]

in Detroit, dealers refer to heroin as blow which is confusing as fuck because most people i know refer to cocaine as blow, but cocaine is actually crack around here. Powder cocaine is what you have to ask for if you want powder cocaine.

Yeah that confused me when i first started doing dope. Before i started doing H blow was always coke so i was like WTF?! I've heard H called some weird things around here. A particularly weird one is "dog food" but most people seem to refer to it as boy, rons or blow.

Where Im from sometimes, the older generation refers to Speed as 'G', which is short for 'Go-y' (said - Goh-ee) but today, especially in Melbourne, 'G' is referring to 'GHB', which gets mighty confusing when the two are confused in conversation.

Cheese to me means high quality tar heroin that is sold by the gram or half gram. A b is a balloon of heroin and it's never as good as cheese. Brown sugar/sugar is powder heroin, it's generally pretty strong. All those confused the hell out of me.

You got any dope?
Ya a couple of pounds (8o)
Shit how much?
40 an oz. 8o
Oh wait you're talking about weed, can I get a j for two dollars?

Beans = benzos in Boston... It meant ecstasy in past towns.
Also, diesel = heroin here, which to me is asinine since diesel strains of weed are pretty popular...

Edit- I have tried to introduce "teener" into some past circles but it never seemed to catch on. I think it's a pretty good word, but people seem content to stick with "half-eighth", or even "one point seven".

YeahFirst time I heard a person say the had a teener of coke ,it took me a minute to think duh,a 16th of an ounce aka half an 8-ball, not commonly used term here and not commonly sold that wayhere either, but i was in Illinois the first time I heard the term..also dope inone state or city is coke or crack ,or meth, while in another place it is heroin..lol..but always the term girl has meant cocaine powder, and hard = crack and boy or boi whatever =heroin and dirty boy is some tar in some places...hard to keep up huh...lol

the word druggy.

Who here gets offended by the word druggy? Even in a situation where other drug users call you a druggy.? Because I said it a few times on here and some people flipped a bitch onn me.....

Terminology is an inconsistent phenomenon of language. Terms acquire various connotations for every person. Terms are like magnets for things like experiences and memories, images and ideas. Every term is like the truck of a tree, each person branches off of it their own connotations. Some people romanticize the idea of being a 'druggy' or a 'junkie' and I think some people get into drugs or even heroin specifically because of this romanticism. Other people hide the fact obsessively, wanting NO ONE to know their habits.

However, culturally words tend to gain consensus as to whether they are pejorative or euphemistic. Druggy seems to be on the pejorative side of the fence unless perhaps you are a fifteen year old kid who romanticizes drug use and its concomitant nomenclature.

If I were called a druggy, I would say "True, but I am also a writer, a musician, a brother, a son, a reader, a thinker, an explorer, a nomad, a hiker, a bicyclist, a coffee drinker, a lover, a human being..." What use is it to limit someone's essence to a label? It's confining and totally inaccurate as an expression of the totality of someone's being. I suppose, I'd be less offended if someone said, "You are, among so many other things, a druggy". This would approach the truth far closer than the limiting statement "You are a druggy". But the study of linguistics and syntax and the evolution of language will cause you to become quite anal about such things. Also, I'm a writer. Words...they kind of matter.

^ Hey, me too. BTW what is the "truck of a tree"? j/k

I have never been called a druggy. Though when people suggest I quit, or go back to rehab yada yada. I get pissed.

maryjane we got a thread to discuss everything about slang related to drugs. This is gonna get merged into there. When you make a new thread, try and consider if you think somebody else mighta had the same idea for the thread before--maybe there is a similar thread about your topic. You should always search before you make a new thread--use the search engine and look for "druggie" or "druggy" as your keyword, and any other word related to it. then, any thread that has discussed that already, will come up and you can post there instead of make a repeat thread.

Anyways, off to the mega drug slang thread....

So am I mistaken, or are "beans" ecstasy? Because my h contact or middleman texted me, "Yo you got any beans?" The text wasn't meant for me, but I laughed so hard.... beans!

Nowdays it seems the word "beans" refers to Oxycontin 80mg. At least, where I am from (Pacific Northwest) thats all that anyone calls oxy. "Beans" around here automatically refers to oxycontin. I don't think I have ever heard anyone call ecstasy "beans". And since its someone in the heroin scene asking about beans, I'm guessing your dealer is talking about oxycontin.

just off the top of my head

marijuana: weed, bud, green, trees, mj.

heroin: H, skag, dope, D, diesel.

ecstasy: beans, bombs, adams, e

cocaine: white girl, blow, snow, coke, yay/yayo

amphetamines: amps, phets, stims

the act of going to purchase drugs: copping, picking up, snagging, scoring

eh, that's all i can think of right now.

When I lived in upstate NY, my younger brother and his friends called bud, cookies whenever they texted.
When I worked at a tie dye place at one point, I met this couple that moved from Pennsylvania that called bud, chuddy-bops. I still use that one to this day.
Ecstasy...rolls or candy
Coke...yay, cheese, booger sugar, snow, candy cane
Weed...trees, bud, dank, hydro, dro, headies, sharkies, beasters-(derived from BC-British Columbia, in Cananda, where it was coming from)
Sticks n stones referred to shitty bags of weed filled with seeds and stems
