got an adderall ir script, for 15mg morning then 10mg 4 hours later. also recently, i have noticed an extreme decrease in my sex drive. i literally NEVER find myself wandering off and fantasizing, which used to happen regularly at least every hour for several minutes or more. i have also found that it is nearly impossible to achieve an erection, which was also an incredibly common occurrence maybe a month ago. any ideas and/or suggestions as to causes and fixes?

Pretty typical response to stimulants, if you have something planned may be worth skipping a dose. There are a few supplements that have probably been mentioned on the forum already, just search around for any combination of 'stim' 'meth' 'dick' willy' etc. etc., can't remember any off the top of my head other than using certain NSAIDs that can help with vasodilation.

so if i stop taking the adderall for like a week and get some supplements (i know which ones your talking about) and get some otc painkillers then i should be fine? which NSAIDs are you referring to? the four i know of are aspirin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, and naproxen. which ones?

how does that work then? i know for a fact aspirin decreases your platelet count making your blood thinner... dont know much about ibuprofen. anything else to try?

I've found all ADs I've taken but since I have settled down on Venlafaxine for quite a few months now my loss of sex drive is quite pronounced.

I can't take Ibuprofen or such since I had a stomach bleed a while ago so avoid such things. Fortunately the effect seems mainly psychological and I have an understanding partner so I guess we make sure less is more, the fact it takes me longer to get there can be quite an advantage ;)

As for the drugs you have listed especially in the rates/amounts used, the only culprit which I can spot would be the Adderall. Particularly when you said you it was difficult to achieve an erection. This is a very well known and annoying side effect that any avid stimulant abusers know and it is due to vasoconstriction. The opposite of what your cock needs to get hard (vasodilation). Now this is speaking for this particular physical side effect, however, I'm not so sure it is to blame for a lacking sex drive or libido or w/e. Actually myself and many other recreational stimulant users (particularly meth/amphetamines) end up "wasting" the entire high feverishly beating off to strange pornography for hours on end and rubbing ourselves raw. But I'm no psychologist so maybe it could be decreasing your sex drive. I would suggest talking to your doctor about it, or if you wanna do some home experimentation then you could cease taking your prescribed dose for maybe a week or two and see if things go back to the way they were.

i have read that this particular side effect (decreased sex drive/impotence) can go away with time during regular treatment, what i am going to try to do is make up for this with supplements, and if that does not solve the problem in the next week and there is no change in the side effects, i will quit the adderall altogether and try some other medications. i believe the reason for my decreased sex drive is a decrease in testosterone, which is a possible side effect of adderall, though not that common. for me, since i am fairly young, i should be at the peak. i always had a higher than average level of the hormone naturally, but the adderall has killed it. looking back, i realize now the problems actually started when i started taking the adderall. what i am referring to is not simply the inability to get excited, but i have a total lack of interest in sex in general. this is why my problem is not so easily fixed. just the thought of sex would get me excited anywhere anytime before. now, it is impossible to actually get excited, but sex in general is bland and unnappealing. this is the real problem, and as i said before i think this is because of a decrease in testosterone related to the adderall. will probably switch meds, as sex will be fairly regular in the near future, so im probably just gonna have to stop taking it and see if i can find some other meds that fix my condition without negatively affecting my sex drive. this is the only logical reason for the problem i am having. thanks for the info guys, and anything further would be appreciated, as well as med suggestions which will not cause this problem and verification of my theory.
