Drug dosing (general question)

I've noticed that with some drugs (in my limited experience, specifically opiates and ketamine), taking a large initial dose is the only way I'll get a good effect. In other words, if I take multiple small doses, the effect is almost nothing. For instance, if I take 2 5/500 Vicodins every hour for four hours, there's almost no "high" whereas taking just four or more at once will make me feel nice. Is this due to tolerance or is it just the way drugs work? I've read some other posts where people mentioned this effect with opiates. Same thing with Ketamine and MDMA. Which other drugs would be like that? Coke doesn't seem to be like that for me but, then again, I have a low tolerance for it and don't really care for it to begin with.

all drugs are like this honey.
initial concentration vs. absorbtion/metabolization rates.
think about it, if you take a tylenol, it doesnt last forever....and if u take 3 or 4 at once, it works better than just one at a time...
use you head hon.
