A controversial game has been launched for the Apple iPhone where players deal drugs from real-world locations.

Using the GPS in their mobile phones to track their movements, gamers connect with each other trying to buy drugs including cannabis, cocaine and ecstasy at low prices.

They then move around cities such as London, Manchester and Birmingham trying to sell them on for a profit, making trades with real people online.

Makers say of the game Underworld (initially called DrugLords) : "You become a drug dealer in the criminal underworld, which exists parallel to your everyday life."

The game is expected to be available from the Apple iTunes store just in time to outrage anti-drugs charities for Christmas.
A spokesperson for game developers a-steroids said: "The idea is simple. Moving between real-world locations, you trade various drugs: buy low and sell high.

"You start as a small-time drug pusher with a goal to be a famous drug baron, make a fortune and dominate the world."

They already made something like this for PDA's 7 or 8 years ago. Once the media got ahold of it, they stopped making the game :(

TI83+ ftw

I don't know about you guys, but I'd like to see dealers using multiple disposable phones for dealing. If they don't have a new number within a couple weeks...

The more I think about it, the more I think this is a front for real dealing haha. They dressed it up in the wrappings of a video game.

I hear that, this doesn't even seem like that fun a game if you have to travel the city just to play it. It's kind of scaring me how normal GPS is becoming in this world, because it is going to be accepted as normal by everyone. And I feel like that's the plan. :|

Lol I'm sure people will use this to deal drugs It could help drug dealers out in the short term by confusing the hell out of cops, although in the end the cops already know who the drug dealers are and will just use this as reason to get a warrant should someone who actually deals drugs use the iphone this way. However, this game could make things interesting by getting "normal" people thinking more and more about dealing drugs and make it seem more acceptable since it's on the iphone. If it gets more people off the bench and into the game, they're going to learn the hard way though that they should have just paid that random kid cash to go purchase a Boost mobile for them.

I could certainly lead to dealing, and I'd be surprised if it hasn't yet been used. (I guess the same could be said about social networks that work with the iphone's gps...) But, it'd be naive to think that LE isn't aware of this, and using it to their advantage.

I don't believe drug dealers will use this. Think about it, in china during the Olympics, the government could view your calling history, record your conversations, read your texts, etc. And that is on phones without GPS. This is just an easier way for our government to track your data and bust you.

Not TRYING to sound like a hippy but with all the satellite tracking shit, I would never feel comfortable using this app.

Coolio:
You think drug dealers aren't using iPhones?

Word. My guys do NOT use iPhones. Or Blackberries or even Razrs. At least not for business. They have those Go Phones/phones you buy at Walmart that are on sale bunched with a 120 minute phonecard.

So this game...I'm confused. You have to actually walk or more likely drive down to areas other people are "selling" their drugs only to get there and probably not receive any ACTUAL drugs? and this is supposed to be fun?
