Drug Bust In Melbourne 05/09/03

haha, yeah I know the guy also, he is a real softy, saturdays artical reads that he once threatened to hurt someones mother who owed money etc. but it is very unlike him. Although he only has a select number of people he it friends with, he was too well known for what went on and word obviously spread too far...

I would remind everyone that until charges are laid, these remain "alleged" offences. Please take care how much you give away about yourself, and your associates, on BL. Most of the information on this forum can easily be presented in a 'third person, past tense' fashion - impersonal it may be, but it is also more sensible.

Well from what I heard today that monaro is his fair and square, he bought it very cleanly and legaly.

I belive that this bust in particular might subdue small/medium dealing for a while these guys were known by quite a few people, maybe that was there problem.

Pies phone linked with drug claims
By ELISSA HUNT, Magistrates' Court reporter
10 Sep 2003

A COLLINGWOOD Football Club manager used a work phone for drug-related calls to her ecstasy-dealing boyfriend, a court heard yesterday.

Merchandise manager Sherryn Osborne, 28, who is charged over a $1 million drug operation, allegedly used the drugs ecstasy and ice weekly.
She applied for bail yesterday on charges of trafficking commercial quantities of ecstasy and amphetamines.

But Ms Osborne was behind bars last night after her application at Melbourne Magistrates' Court was adjourned.

It was adjourned after the court was closed while some evidence was given.

The court earlier heard Ms Osborne's boyfriend, Shane Carl Waters, was the target of the major drug investigation division's Operation Remuda.

Senior Detective Sean Martin told the court the pair had been dating since March this year.

The court heard police intercepted calls between the two on Mr Waters' mobile phone from May until their arrest on September 5.

Sen-Det Martin told the court Ms Osborne trafficked 3000 ecstasy pills with the help of Mr Waters between June and July.

On June 19 she allegedly called Mr Waters and asked for 1000 "cds".

That was code for ecstasy pills and after obtaining the drugs she later sold 500 of them, the court heard.

Sen-Det Martin said on July 13 there were calls between Ms Osborne and Mr Waters about the purchase of 2000 ecstasy pills for another man.

Mr Waters allegedly arranged for the pills to be supplied at $18.50 each and Ms Osborne charged her buyer $20 each.

Sen-Det Martin said Ms Osborne used drugs for recreational purposes.

White powder was allegedly found at her home in Brighton Rd, Elwood, when police searched it.

Sen-Det Martin said phone calls were used to make deals, including from the Collingwood Football Club.

The court was then closed and when it reopened, magistrate Steven Raleigh explained there were issues that needed to be resolved between the prosecution and defence.

He adjourned the bail application until tomorrow afternoon.

This isn't big at all, i can't beleive it was all over the news, and secondly, i can't beleive how much time and effort the police put in.

Just remember they busted like 11 houses... that means 11 potential leads to bigger dealers...
