Benzos Dr's Taper from 4 RC Benzos - 2nd Opinion?

Just him because of what he's been using or people tapering in general? I've been lightly drinking during my taper. :\

I would say that anyone tapering should not quit, and definitely shouldn't drink for a few months once they get off. I've been clean from benzos for a year now after taking them daily for 8 years and the first time I tried tapering I was still drinking on the weekends and it would always set me back a few days (needed more valium to hold me). When I finally detoxes for good I didn't drink at all and stopped for a good 3 months before having the occasional drink. Hangovers are way worse now though, so I never drink enough to get one.

I reckon if your'e straight up front with your Doc, it will go smoothly, start on 50mg valium, if you feel bad withdrawal at 50mg, call your doctor immediately and explain, he will up your dosage a bit, but remember the higher your diazepam dose, the longer the taper, so be reasonable, don't treat it as a recreational drug, but as a therapeutic treatment to get off 'diazepines without too much difficulty.

good luck

FYI, these are the Benzodizepines avalible for public (NHS) prescription in the UK:

Diazepam
Chlordiazepoxide
Clobazam
Clonazepam
Flurazepam
Loprazolam
Lorazepam
Lormetazepam
Nitrazepam
Oxazepam
Temazepam

See page 2 for an excellent comparison chart: http://www.sussexpartnership.nhs.uk/gps/policies/finish/2030/2669

Quite limited compared to the US/Canada/Europe selection eh?

I thought Bromazepam was around in the UK.

It's very similar to the Canadian scene btw, let me think of what we got here.

Alprazolam
Bromazepam
Chlordiazepoxide
Clobazam
Clonazepam
Clorazepate
Diazepam
Lorazepam
Nitrazepam
Oxazepam
Temazepam

We used to have Triazolam but it was wiped down from the country, what a shame, it's the only one I never got to try. Maybe if I can find some place where they have flubromazolam, yeah, that thing also exists online, I'm pretty curious about it, an RC triazolo benzo. But honestly I'd give my left nut for a 90 count triazolam .25mg script. I think right now some pharmacies are keeping what they have left and only when they're all gone will triazolam be officially out of the country. It makes me so mad. I'm jealous of your access to Loprazolam and Lormetazepam, 2 benzos I obsesses over, especially Loprazolam, since it can be snorted away. Very strange how alprazolam's missing, I think only private clinics will script it in the UK. Ugh, the UK, the only country that's closer to corporo-fascism than the US is. In Canada private clinics are very limited, it's quite a hassle for a doctor to try and get out of the system so most don't even try, in this province anyway, health is a provincial issue, except when Health Canada puts its nose where it shouldn't....the whole dept (basically our FDA) is unconstitutional.

Hi guys, I took quite a bit of information along to my last appointment and my doctor stopped my taper and referred me to my local clueless (from experience) drug-counselling charity. He advised me to try and taper with these Chinese??? research chemical benzos :? :(

The charity in question specialise in heroin, cocaine, cannabis, ecstasy, amphetamine abuse etc. The old school 'street' drugs of abuse. The last time I saw them the councillor ended up taking personal notes on all the 'legal highs' I could name for her own future use! (MXE, Cannabinoids etc.) 8)

They do not know anything about pharmaceuticals, certainly not research benzos...

My doctor has advised me to make an appointment with a different doctor (he has a two week holiday), go with my dad (I am 20+ 8)) and bring all of my research benzos, to be disposed of by the doctor. I then have to hope and pray that this doctor will resume my 50mg Diazepam taper - there is no guarantee that this will happen :\

I am not particularly happy with this situation but I am at the mercy of the NHS.

I am starting to feel like my medical record says "DANGER: ULTRA HIGH RISK DRUG ABUSER, DO NOT TREAT WITH MEDICATION, IF NECESSARY FOB OFF WITH SSRIs"

If I am not put back on my taper what, theoretically of course, would be the best research benzo to taper with? Flubromazepam? I can't really afford anything but I will try if needed.

Surely any doctor has a duty to safely taper me off a serious Benzodiazepine addiction with Diazepam?

If I am not put on a taper I will have to call the NHS non-emergency number, either that or visit my local A&E?

I appreciate the help guys.

i knew in the UK your original post was to good to be true. He would have been pulled up by the head doc and told in no way will he do it for you. The NHS have gone mad strict on benzos.

i had a great doc that would give me 28 10's month. That was manageable got a year and sometimes I didn't use them all in a month. So I never increased my dose. Eventually another doc said no way are we giving you more, take an anti physcotic instead every day. I couldn't work, I could think, I couldn't wake up. I put a stone on in a month. I went back and they tried me on ssris other stuff. In the end they sent me to a mental health doc who send them a message back saying he can have 15 a month. I booked an appointment with the docs to get a script. They gave it to me. I booked another appointment for another script a month later as I didn't get a repeat and when I got there I was told I was banned from the doctors...

i went down the road and registered with another docs. They offered me ssris and a repeat of 15 5 mgs of Diaz a month!!(that's today a daily dose)

After a a while I was getting messed up. My anxiety levels were through the roof and I still hadn't lost the weight. So it got me into buying dodgy benzos on line. Some bunk, some clones with less in them. Then I got into the RC scene as the quality was better, then I got messed up them and luckily found through 100's of hours of searching some amazing venders from a certain country that supply 100% legit products. So I stockpiled. I only wanted kpins and Diaz roche(very expensive) but they were real . The problem is they run out after a while. So I ended up stock piling on other pucker benzos like Xanax and Ativan. Then I thought sod it I will try drugs like triazolam , temazepam and brotizolam

yeah thanks NHS (I don't blame them entirely off course it's on me) but I have a lot of work to do and some nights I can't get sleep from taking the equivalent of 150mgs of Diaz..

I have thoughtnabout bout telling my doc and going on a taper as the only drugs I should be on is clonazapam or diazepam as they are the best taper drugs with a long half life. But it's pretty obvious what would happen so thanks for letting me know what happened to you after one doc promised you that. Btw he wanted you off his hands that's why he said go to another doctor. After probably being bollocked by his boss due to NHS guidelines..What's 2 weeks anyway. What these people don't get is if you stop benzos cold turkey you can die. It's more dangerous than heroin. But they would be 100% more sympathetic them..
