I had been a heavy user of opiates, and I found the drowsiness caused by opiates to be more of the pleasant nodding type than drinking wine or taking antihistamines. Its not the euphoric buzz that I am talking about, its the drowsiness. The mind becomes more nodded or "clouded" than the drowsiness caused by drinking liquor. Why is that?

Different drugs, as I NUK3D U said, act on different receptors in the brain and cause different reactions within the body, hense there being so many chemicals in the world used for different medical and recreational reasons. Opiates, alcohol and antihestamines are all totally different in their make up thus reacting totally different in the body.... It's kind of like asking why strawberries taste different to chocolate.... because they are different!

Haha this thread made me giggle.. but I think it has been sufficiently answered, on a BDD level at least! ;)

Am closing it, pm me if you disagree!!
