i was at a bar with my sister brother and boyfriend last nite. we were drinking an having a good time as we do.
me, my boyfriend, and my brother wanted to go home but my sister didnt so we all went home and she insisted on staying at the bar. she did come home later, of course she was pretty drunk but them something scary happened. she suddenly went out of it. i went into her room and she was totally off her face. i am sure her drink was spiked at the bar. she had no idea what was going on, where she was or anything. she said she saw our dead grandparents. she had such an empty look in her eyes and she said she could not focus at all. when i told her to look at me she just stared straight thru me. it was really scary. she had very bad stomach pains and was dry heaving. when she came around a little she had such a shocked look on her face, like she had no idea what was going on. she said that it was like hell but no she felt if she were alive. i was wondering if anyone may have any idea what was put in her drink. also, be careful with your drinks and dont leave your friends at a bar. this is a bar we go to all the time so you never know what can happen to you or what someone can put in your drink.

No offence to ya sis, mellyks, but i've been wasted enough on just alcohol a number of times badly enough to display pretty much all the shit ya sis went through... some times if you're extra tired or for some reason haven't eaten all day, before you know it you can turn into what i like to call "alter-stak" (dudes call me stak). And u ain't who u normally is. I'm sure u know this shit about alcs already, but personally it doesn't really sound like spikeage to my. just my 2 cents tho, i didn't actually see ya sis.

We all know drink spiking is no fun and games and we should all be aware.
Honestly though, I'd have to agree with Evil Witch in saying that alcohol is a strong enough drug by itself to induce the sort of experience mellyks talks about.
I'm with Pleo in the pledge for more info.

I hope u guys are right in thinking it may have just been the alcohol. im not sure how much she drank cause i was not with her the whole nite. i would like to think that drink spiking is something i dont have to worry about at my regular bar where i know a lot of people and are good friends with the staff. this is the bar that my boyfriend works at. yes, my sister is under a lot of stress at the moment and has been going thru some personal shit latley. this probably didnt help her situation. but ,i know my sister and she can really drink a lot. i have never seen her in a state like that before. i would be nice to think that her drink wasnt spiked. just to everyone out there be careful.

Yeah, I guess the fact is you'll never know what really happened... however I'm glad to hear that she's OK now. The lessons to learn from this are to never leave your drink unattended, and if you're overly paranoid try holding the glass with your palm half over the top instead of just around the side (paranoia can be a good thing sometimes). This is especially important in bars and clubs you don't go to often, but this situation illustrates that if it did happen, it can happen anywhere.
Also be extra mindful if you're female (and extra extra mindful if you're a hot female ;) )...

most of my mates and i have been slipped rohypnol.
dont let anyone u dont no buy u drinks.
becareful of daterape it could happen even if u no the person.

the main thing that surprised me about this situation is that it happened at a bar that we always go to, know all the staff very well, and also the owner. dont think your safe even in your "regular" bar/club.

yes, yes. Timmy C raped me. Damn. ;) (oh, NRGirl? who? huh? gggrrr...)
on a more serious note tho, when the real thing happens and a fucked up male decides to spike an (unknown... or known i spose) female's drink simply for amusement or for a more devious and dispicable reason, its just sick. the male is just a sad, lonely and yet desperately evil person...
come to think of it, i ask you this question: how often would a girl spike a guy's drink? why do you think this is so uncommon? becasue if a chick wanted a guy, and was of a similar squred up personality as the guy above, spiking his drink would be the only way she could "get" him... vise versa kinda... *?*
oh wait, guy's (in pubs) are usually already overly intoxicated, and even if they weren't, pub blokes would usually fuck anything that gave them a smile!! :) seriously, some guys must be so fucked up... i know girls are too, but an approximate ratio would be something like 1000:1!
all i can say is, glad i don't know any of those kinda guys!! ;)

Whenever you think you've been mickeyed, you should get yourself to a hospital to get looked at, and they can actually tell you what's in your bloodstream.

^^ actually I don't think they can. They can only find what they are looking for, so if something unusual is in your blood stream, chances are it probably won't be found.
Reminds me of this thread

If you suspect that you've been drugged without your permission, or are feeling drug effects that are unexpectedly overpowering or shouldn't be happening, I can't see the problem in having a friend take you to a hospital for observation, just in case. If you lose consciousness, or stop breathing, it's the safest place to be.
BigTrancer :)

^^ I second that ^^
Just to state again, I didn't mean DON'T go to a hospital, it's just that they can't always find what you had(not saying they can't or won't). Everything BigTrancer says I agree with 100% :)

Half the bluelighters here would go to the hospital thinking their drink had been spiked, and then test positive to every drug on the list anyway (cos they took them the night before)... ;)
Seriously though, good advice - go to the hospital if you think things are going weird (whether that be because of possible spiking or not). Better off alive and in trouble than dead. Don't worry about your parents finding out or anything - if you die then they'll know soon enough, and you won't even be able to say sorry...

just outa curiosity, what kind of 'trouble' could u get in law-wise if u need to be taken to hospital (and dont have any substances on ur person)?

*BLer arrives at hospital*
BLer: "I think my drink was spiked with something, I'm feeling funny."
Doc: "Will you allow us to take a blood test."
BLer: "Needles! Sure!"
*bloodtest taken*
Doc: "It appears your drink was spiked with various amphetamines, THC, Ketamine and we have reason to believe there were other trace substances that could indicate hallucinogens and research chemicals."
BLer: "Ooer."
Doc: "So you say you tasted nothing unusual in the drink?"
BLer: "Ermm... nope."
Doc: "And you do not recreationally use any of these chemicals yourself?"
BLer: "Uh... no."
Doc: "Is that Wizz Fizz around your nostril?"
Bler: "Umm, yeah I think so."
*Doc turns to face camera with a serious pondering look and thinks out-loud*
Doc: "Damn those drink spikers are good these days"

special-k: you shouldn't get into any trouble for being under the influence of an illegal drug and requring medical treatment. It would be extremely unusual for police to be contacted, unless, like in this instance, you thought you had been given a drug without your knowledge. The only other instance I can think of is if you are intoxicated and have a serious car accident injuring others - then, I imagine police may be called.
Fear of police involvement should never stop you from seeking medical treatment for someone who is intoxicated and seriously unwell.
The standard urine drug screen used in Aus hospitals will show if you have been given a benzodiazepine (depending on how long after ingestion you guve the sample), plus opiates, methadone (appears separately to other opiates), amphetamines, cocaine and babiturates (if my memory serves me).

kirsty its not only females that are affected by drugs such as these. I myself have had an unpleasant experience with drink spiking. Fair enough i was sharing drinks with a female (why i do not know), but after 6 drinks neither of us could remember a thing.
I can only imagine what would have happened if she (or I) had of had the entire drink (we assumed it was one of the beers we shared as both of us draw blanks after about 10:30)
Apparently my eyes got all messed up and i had a distant expression on my face, some friends of mine thought id got on the chems, but sadly i didnt. I ended up so messy by about 12 that a friend drove me home, she had to walk me inside.
People who spike drinks are low an despicable, and if caught should face some serious time, ignoring the fact that the mere presence of drink spiking can put a dampner on poeples night, it is not right that people prey upon those who are out solely for a good time. i wont even get into the health and safety of the issue. Ill just leave it at, If i ever bust someone spiking drinks, i will consider it an act of self defense when i break a chair over thier head...
