My husband and I share dreams often. What' really funny is that he tells his from his point of view, while mine is from my POV. This is fairly common. Does anyone else do this?

I was in prison a while ago and had a dream about a note laying on a wooden bridge we used to hang out and smoke weed on in our youth. I had a conscious decision to read the note. For some reason I got scared, freaked out, and woke up.

When I got out of prison my friend asked if I got the note he sent me. He didn't send any physical letters while I was incarcerated. Either this was coincidence or he dropped by and delivered the note in my dream. Weird either way.

I often have dreams of relatives of mine who's being through tough times.
In most of my relapses (years ago) my mother would call the day after wondering if I was okay.
We have always lived in different countries so that makes it really meaningful and strange.
She wouldn't call for years or months in roll. But in situations like that it was like something surreal.

The closest I've had to this is one night while my girlfriend was away for 2.5 months, about 2 months into it and we were missing each other really bad, we talked before we both went to bed and we said we'd try to imagine we were snuggling up with each other. I thought about her really hard and in the middle of the night sometimes I had a dream that we were in bed, snuggling and just enjoying each others' company. It felt very real. The next day I told her about it and she said she had that dream too, and we both felt like there was a real connection there.

I had a lot of wordless communication with my ex, during the years we were close. But that was while awake and it consisted of a seeming ability to transmit words.

None of my experiences prove to me that such a thing is possible, it could have been coincidence and/or the result of knowing each other really well. But they do feel real and I think it's possible for us to connect like that.

People who live together have many experiences in common in the waking world. It is only natural that their dreams have similar content but with differnces that reflect their points of view.

I tend to have more shared dreams if the person is lying beside me. Shared consciousness fields, and what not. If there's sexual involvement it's even more likely.

With one partner I had, I simply could not stay in my body if we slept in the same bed, or I would have regular sleep paralysis. It was hell. Whenever he came over on weekends I could expect to get the shittiest sleep ever.

When people are sleeping next to each other, it's very different. They may be able to pick up on cues like body positioning, sounds when sleeping, talking in sleep, etc., and this may be integrated into the dream state. Plus, there could be some telepathy going on as well. If people are separated long distances like in Dime Bag Johnny's story, I'd say it's even more of a solid case. I can't see any logical explanation for that experience.

Freud believes that dream contain a hidden wish of ours and we are the only ones who know how to interpret our own dreams. A therapist just guides you through the process. Also, any reoccurring dreams are believed to be unfinished business from our past that our unconscious is trying to work out.

Edit: I also remember "Theresa the long-island medium" saying that when you have a dream about someone who has passed away and it FEELS super real, it's actually a "visitation" not a dream. I've had one, from my sister. And omg did it feel real. Like, visually, feeling, and emotion-wise. It actually made me believe in god again.. and heaven.. the whole deal because the peacefulness and euphoria that I felt was out of this world (like 10x my best ecstasy high--I didn't even know that was possible).

IF this feeling never happens on its own in dreams but is only associated with a "visitation," that gives it a special significance. Even better is when the dream leaves you with a synchronistic detail about something you should never have known on your own.

Yeah, this was like no other dream I've had before. I mean, it was surreal, I literally told everyone in my life, the next day, because it was so incredibly powerful and oddly, positive.

I have a few questions: Were you aware that you were dreaming? What did your sister look like in the dream? For example, did she have that glow that somebody has after they have been away on a fantastic vacation to a tropical island paradise? Was there a purpose to the dream? For example, did she have a 'message' or was it more like she was saying 'hello?' Did she leave you with some kind of verifiable proof that the dream was special? I'm curious about experiences like this and have had many.
If you haven't written it down do it now before you forget details.
