Three years ago I was sold unperforated, plain white blotter tabs that I was told was LSD. I consumed an area of blotter approximately equivalent to six tabs early in the morning on veterans day with two other friends (K took about two tabs and Z took only one tab). Three hours later I was still sober and assumed they were bunk. Three and I half hours things started to sparkle, and six hours later I was tripping harder than I had in my entire life. The grass pulsed green as it grew to the sky and we wandered through the university's overgrown, dying maze of an orchard. One friend recounted how I was slumped against my bed watching Planet Earth with half a chocolate bar smeared against my face and an expression of utter glee (ha).
It was really fun for the first 14 hours or so but then it started to get old. Z claimed he was pretty much done tripping and retired to his dorm room. K and I were left sitting in the in the dark in my room. He was still significantly tripping, but I beyond the zone of thought loops into reality loops. Countless groups of noisy strangers poured into my room, held brief but lively conversations with each other and left, only to return with a new roster what seemed like every 15 minutes. I must emphasize that I did not recognize any of these people or understand why they were in my room. I do not believe any of them interacted with me or K, or even acknowledged our presense.
During that semester my roommate's cell phone alarm was set to a missle silo siren, and so on most mornings I would wake up to the sound of imminent nuclear war. At that point in my trip I was convinced the siren would sound at any momment and I wake up in my bed at the begining of the same day, Sisyphus sentenced to repeat the ordel ad infinitum. K left me with a backward glance of sympathy. I solomnly concluded that you can't taste acid without tripping balls and resolved to accept my fate with stoic dignity. The tabs were bitter indeed, a troublesome detail I didn't dwell much on at liftoff.
My roommate returned from his weekend back home and as usual he feel asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow. I writhed under my covers all night only to find that a half a minute had gone by. My limbs ached powerfully and no quantity of ibuprofen could lay to rest the sensation that my extremities would curl into themselves and die. I assumed I was experiecing dangerous vasoconstriction.
I went to classes the next morning on no sleep and was still well off base until amost noon time. All in all I tripped more than 20 hours.
I don't think my dealer was malevolent, I think he was just ignorant. It was a massive overdose on what was supposed to be my first LSD trip. Turned out to be a DOx, and I could have easily died or had a limb amputated. Moral of the story: don't eat large doses of blotter without testing smaller doses first. I was pissed at the kid who sold it to me at first but soon realized the onus was entirely on me.
