Heroin Don't want heroin deciding my fate anymore

^ oh boy, im scarred to come off bupre :(

suboxone has really been a life-saver for me! i would probably be back on the streets shooting dope without suboxone. it allows me to maintain grades in school, have somewhat of a social life, and it is great when im really craving..

lately i have been craving a full-agonist pretty bad, im not sure if the bupre is not holding me aswell as it did, or if it is just a normal thing to encounter>

though! i must say, you really do have to want to change for the better in order for bupre to work, most people get on, still have addictive tendencies, and end up addicted to crack or methamphetamine or benzos which is kind of what happened to me.

there are only so many drugs i can abuse now because im on sub, basically psychedellics, stims, marijuana, and gabaergics. it has been getting a little redundant lately, but i just keep trucking!!

good luck man, i hope you find what you are looking for! :)

Man I relate to that so much.

I didn't read the entirety of the thread, but I wanted to share a quote I read a while back.
Remember this when it comes to your addiction: you may be a slave to drugs, but they will NEVER be your masters.

Scared to come off bupe, as you should be! read my last post in the PAWS megathread. Bupe withdrawal/PAWS is terrible. the acute withdrawal lasted about 21 days for me - i checked into a 28 day inpatient program which is the only way i got though it. And it's 3 months later now with physically intense PAWS still in full force.

This guy has only been on heroin for a year. Everyone suggesting bupe or methadone, DONT. BAD idea!! This guy just needs to try an inpatient rehab first. bupe and done lead me to 5 years of switching back and forth after only a year of heroin, and if i hadn't done that then i wouldn't have the PAWS i do now - heroin doesn't have intense physical paws for months but both bupe and done do. So i say try to stick out the heroin withdrawals, but not at a week long detox - at at LEAST a 28 day inpatient - ideally a 6 month program.

What dose of sub where u on, I had s friend just come off of 0.5mg a day and she said she had wd for a week or two, but it wasn't that bad

I wouldbt reccomend rehab to anyone. Everytime I went in, meet friends and get into harder drugs. First rehab I met a dope head who got me into heroin, second rehab after I got out my friend I met in there got me into crack and meth
Rehabd are fucking bullshit, waste of fucking money

^^

Agreed about the rehabs. They are money making schemes with an abysmal success rate.. whether it's a one month or three month program. But, back on the subject of bupe.. if you're only on it for a short period of time the kick really isn't that bad. You just need to get on it, stabilize, and then ween down as fast as you can. Don't stay on it for more than a month. I was on it for a year straight, and on and off for years before that.. so when I tried to kick.. It was tough so I went back to H.. But a short suboxone taper is a great way to kick your drug of choice habit without getting your body so incredibly dependent on the bupe..

^^ how fucked is it that after 2 years on sub 24mg a day..... I just used heroin to get off the damn bupe.....I kept the heroin use low for a 2 weeks and then dived into sickness again. Got 7 days now no opiates.

Not surprising about the going back on H when getting of the bupe.. Hah. I did the same thing, but not with the intent on kicking the bupe.. I knew that wasn't an option for me so I just said fuck it and got back on H full time... Though I'm currently back on and doing a 1 month taper, so we'll see how that goes.

Good to hear about your 7 days. Certainly a start. Are you still sick?

Ive never gone used opis but i've seen friends and family who have struggled with addiction and w/d and I just want to say my heart goes out to you. I hope everything turns out well, remember cravings and w/d are only temporary - your will to reclaim yourself will remain for as long as you want

I've done it cold turkey, and even though its hard it is possible for anyone. Its going to be very uncomfortable but you can do it. You need something to make you sleep and calm you down though or it's going to be miserable. Do you have anyway to get ahold of some muscle relaxers for sleep and pain and some benzos for sleep and the anxiety?

Also for all of you wondering if the monthly Naltrexone shots work; they do. My friend had been addicted to heroin for 8 years and was a heavy user. Once he started getting those he didn't even want to smoke anymore. He has now been sober for almost a year and the shots have done nothing but good things for him.
