Hi all. I am a newbie but personally am so old that I worked on the project before the one where we came up with dirt. I will be brief since both of my longer and more eloquent attempts went to post never-never land. So I'll be direct. I have a favor to ask. An unpopular favor. A very, very unpopular favor. And No, I am not selling or breaking any of the other BL rules, or if I am, it is out of ignorance and not by intent. So here is my favor:
I suffer from an incurable, progressive, massively painful, genetic brainstem disorder. This leaves me in incredible pain, all day every day. Think kidney stone pain, not broken arm or leg pain. I've had all three on more than one occasion and the bone stuff is a walk in the park compared to the kidney stones or what I have dealt with all day, everyday for over 15 years. Plus my condition keeps getting worse. And worse.
That said, this isn't about me. After all, I am 59 years old and to most of you that equates to worthless, out of touch, and ought to be dead anyway. I certainly can understand your perspective. It was, after all, my generation, that when we were the age that many of you are now, coined the phrase: "Don't trust anyone over thirty". So I am asking this not for myself, but for many of you and for all of the other people who suffer from severe, chronic pain.
My request is this: Please stop posting about ways to get high using methadone. The same goes for other prescription painkillers. It would be great if you would stop abusing them altogether but I haven't sunk that far into Fairytaleville yet. Why do I ask such a stupid request, you ask? Because their are a whole lot more of us than there are of you. Plus many, if not most of you will someday, unfortunately join the ranks of us. Here's the big kicker, you've already screwed up one of your biggest supplies of a very popular painkiller. A group called SNAP or Surgeons & Neurologists Against Pain, which have long been one of the most sympathetic medical group for pain patients, were also the ones most willing to write prescriptions for OXY drugs like vicodin, oxycontin, and Percocet for people with chronic pain. Well, at their annual meeting in January of this year, they voted almost unanimously to stop writing scripts for any and all forms of OXY effective April 1, 2013. So if OXY has been a little harder to come by for the last couple of months or the price has gone up dramatically, you have no one but yourselves to thank. Next on their list is methadone and it is #1 with a bullet as they used to say. So please, I am begging you, don't scew methadone up for all of us for whom it is truly our lifeblood. For perspective I need 180 mg. of methadone per day. just to keep my food down. So I thanki each and everyone of you kind people for taking the time to read this.
