Harm Reduction Does tolerance affect recreational or all effects?

This is a fairly broad question but in all drugs where tolerance is present, does building a tolerance only effect the enjoyable side of drugs or how they effect your body and mind as well? For instance would an amnesic dose of a benzo if the user had no tolerance be just as amnesic if the user had a tolerance?


Or in the instance of a psychedelic stimulant like DOM would the stimulant side of the drugs stay consistent with doses irrelevant to tolerance or would your body build a tolerance to the stimulant effects as well?

Perhaps this varies depending on the drug involved?

both. it is known for instance that people build tolerance to the respiratory depression effects of opioids as well as the analgesic, euphoric, etc effects.
usually tolerance to the euphoric effects builds much more rapidly than other physiological reactions.
