I am interested to hear about the impact of the weather on emotions and thoughts for you all.

Does a sunny day make you feel happy?

Does the rain make you more introspective?

How does the weather impact on your mental state?

I would say it has a little bit of effect on my mood but not a total indication of how I feel throughout the day. Sunny makes me feel a lil happy rain makes me sleep lol

As long as it doesn't rain daily all day, or is gloomy every day all day, I don't think depression or anything will occur. I love a rainy day. It's a break from things. It is like nature saying "take a break". And I seem lower key on rainy days, unless it is stormy. Then it is something else.

Certainly mood may be effected. But I don't think we are automatons to it. But we are somewhat drug along with nature, nonetheless.

I feel a more positive emotional benefit paddling around on my surfboard with the sun on my skin, in warm summer water, than any drug has given me. Fact.

I feel like i'm in the minority here.

While i love the sun and warmer days, especially summer nights.. too much of it wears me out and it begins to feel monotonous and i eventually become drained. When a storm finally comes in from the building humidity it's refreshing and i feel alive again. Thunder, lightning, rain... shit is happening again, it breaks that endless cycle of sun and dullness.

I've lived in freezing European winters and excessively hot and long Australian summers, i think too much of either is fucked. I feel more creative when its raining, and more active when it's sunny.

It rains or is overcast where I live about 7-8 months out of the year so yeah, it affects my depression. Summers and some of fall are nice here, but the rest of the year sort of sucks. I would much prefer to live somewhere that had a variety of weather throughout the year.

I totally agree, although I'm not creative. :\

Definitely. Not crazy extreme. Winter (cold weather, snow) makes me miserable. Summer (sun) makes me more cheerful, motivated, etc.

I live in a state in the U.S. where we have 7 months of winter and I find myself depressed a lot during that time. We have sun and it's not always gloomy but everything is dead. Spring will be here next month and I can't wait. I love my psychedelics but I don't do them during this time because it's depressing and boring.

Yeah, today it's in the low teens/almost single digits. There's no going out unless you have to and there's been a couple fatal accidents :(. The winter sucks. Come on spring, green leaves and warm sunshine!

YES! i remember reading an article somewhere a longgg time ago saying that states with shitty weather have higher suicide rates, i don't know how true this is, but very interesting.

The weather here has been cold for the past two days and I have hibernated the entire day yesterday.

I take 5000IUs daily but I can't really tell that it's helped my mood any during winter. I know it's good for you tho so I'll continue to take it.

Hot weather makes me very angry and irritable. My anxiety also gets worse when it's hot.

Moving this to mental health.

The last time I had blood work done I was showing a deficiency and my dr prescribed me 50,000 IUs to be taken for a week I believe it was, so I'm not too concerned about 5000 IUs daily honestly. I'm having blood work done next week some time and I would wager that it's still going to be shown as deficient. Shit, probably everyone where I live is deficient in the winter time at least unless they go to the tanning beds.

The weather does affect my mood but like malakaix said, I rather like the way it does. I live in a very temperate climate now but I have lived in all types of climates all over the world at different times in my life and I have enjoyed them all for different reasons. It is really rare to have a storm here so when they happen it is cause for celebration. Foggy mornings give me a slow start, sunny mornings get me up and about right away. Both are good.:)

The weather affects me mostly when it rains, or when the trains stop working due to excessive snow.
@Herbavore,
I can relate with you when you say you have lived in all types of climates. I enjoyed them differently as well.
What it gets me most inspired though is being able to experience all seasons.
In certain tropical countries you only have Summer. Which is fine, you have the Sun, and it´s always warm.
However, like snow, it´s fun and cozy for a while but I´ve always missed the smell of the Spring.
And the colors of the Autumn. And most of all, being together with all my family..

it was negative 25 degrees this morning where i'm at, and i park my car outside.
so yeah i'd say it affects my mood sometimes...
