Does staying off other drugs increase perceived roll?

Let's say a regular user of MDMA/E were to stay off all drugs (including weed, alcohol) for a month or two before a night of rolling. Would that person experience a better roll as opposed to if that user had been smoking weed everyday, drinking regularly and taking other drugs for those couple of months? It makes sense because that person who stays off all other drugs would be used to being completely sober and taking MDMA would be the first change in state and therefore would feel stronger?

I don't know if that really makes sense...but I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this?

I think that being in good health in general can help MDMA do it's magic. When your body is not up to the task of releasing the various chemicals and respondents that cause you to get high, I think you are likely to achieve less of a thrill.

I also think part of it is likely what you suggested- you are not used to ANY altered state, so when the altered state finally hits, it's far more intense and novel.

I had this experience recently, I had a surgery that required I not have alcohol or caffeine for 6 weeks (my two regular drugs) to allow an incision to heal. Being that I was walking through life completely sober, not even stimulated, at the 4 week mark I decided to do some bk-MDMA at a house party, seeing as nothing about it specifically was contraindicated by my surgery (and I was just taking a risk too, I admit it) and when it kicked in it felt like a heavy dose of MDMA. Normally, the difference it apparent to me and bk-MDMA is a fairly light roll. This was quite intense.

Good question. I cannot answer it because I always poly use with marijuana. Nice report Bsiren.
