So after trying namenda 10 years ago whilst taking Adderall, and it failing, I have re-obtained it. I understand now it doesn't instantly change anything. Currently, my tolerance is reset to dexedrine though I'm still sensitized. I am titrating upward for the second week on namenda. It seems the optimal dose is approx 20mg, and I read an abstract just now that said, for acute administration, the dose necessary to prevent excess (exitotoxic) NMDA activity is larger than the dose that causes deficits in long-term memory as a side effect, in mice anyway. So my questions to my bluelight family are these:

1.) Have you experienced problems with long-term recall on memantine, and at what dosage?

-and-

2.) Did these deficits go away after adjusting to whatever regimen, and also please indicate if your regimen was greater than 20mg/day. After how long did they go away?

I'm studying for an exam, a very boring one (series 7) filled with incoherently grouped factoids so long-term retention and comprehension is #1 priority, in fact this is the reason I returned to stimulant use. Not that I mind the effects =). Thx.

@Coolwhip: meaning I get a response to a low dosage that is "therapeutic" but I have to take bzds to keep the sensitized effects diminished. Sensitization and tolerance are different things, though they may involve similar mechanisms.

To nochtune: Agreed, very interesting, I will look into it's status in the U.S. To me, if they admit sensitization occurs after a few doses, they have to say 40 years of their guidelines were bullshit, so they kind of backed themselves into a corner. Or else they just aren't aware. Thx for the info I will definitely check that out.
