Does Lithium Carbonate interact with Benzo's or Opiates ?

I'm taking Lithium Carbonate 600mg a day (once in the morning, once in the evening), what I would like to know is if Lithium Carbonate can interact in a "negative" way with certain benzodiazepines?

Also, can it interact in a negative way with opiates? (I heard that it can reduce the effect of opiates, though I'm not sure of this, just read it once) Is there anything else I need to know ? Serotonin Syndrome ? Some other negative things that might happen ?

From what i know and have experienced i dont think it would effect the benzos at all. I was prescribed xanax with lithum about 2 years ago and the effects of the xanax were still strong. im not an expert tho but hopefully this will help.

I've not been prescribed lithium for my bi-polar but is very commonly used in conjunction with benzodiazepine treatment.

My ex was rx'd lithium and 2mg xanax with it.

I cant think of any possible interactions with opiates either.
