Does this supplement help any of you with depression.....The thing I liked about phenibut was the lift in mood but it alsohad a calming effect that on top of klonopin and other drugs it was a little to much. Does any one here have success with this supplement. I would like to hear your guys view on this. It isn't to treat and withdrawals. Just the normal depression I deal with.

Mods can we move this to where I may get a little more responses or any?

Phenibut didn't work for me as far as alleviating depression.

On the other hand, I was unwilling to take more than 2 pills a night for more than 3 days in a row because I am not fond of dependence.

ymmv

L theanine helped my anxiety, which in turn lifted my mood.

Theanine tends to help with attention disorders and anxiety disorders more so than depression. This is due to its effect on inhibiting GABA and stimulating dopamine after crossing the BBB. If your depression is a result of anxiety or a lack of dopamine theanine may benefit you more than others. If your depression is due to serotonin deficiencies I can't comment on the effectiveness as theanines effect on this neurotransmitter is still up for debate with no real conclusive scientific evidence proving either or.

Cool. I actually just purchased a bottle of l theanine last week after hearing some positive stories about it. I am reluctant to give it to a try because i'm also on a daily dose of Prozac. I'm looking into whether there are any harmful interactions between the two. Seems probably since L theanine helps with dopamine and Prozac targets serotonin levels. Anyone with any knowledge about this?

people still drink green tea on prozac so i dont see why a higher dose of theanine would be harmful
